(130,533 posts)Although Condi once did a little Freudian slip thing, referred to him as her "husb--" before she caught herself. Still, I don't think anything was actually going on. Who'd want to do him, anyhow? Eww.

(37,648 posts)I would bet money that George Jr. was never unfaithful to Laura. Now, Papa Bush? Yes, he did have a mistriss for a while.

(37,648 posts)Don't mistake that for liking him. But a woman who's "been around" (me) sometimes has an instinct about some things.
Clinton....that one's easy. But that the Clintons are married for life? For sure.
Papa Bush...I wasn't too surprised about him. But it made sense it was ONE mistress, and not a JFK thing. Like Eisenhower.

That thing was all over Austin, back when The Little Shit was Gov.

(1,922 posts)I was playing the usual joints, back then, and there was a lot of coke-talk going around, as well.
To this day, I firmly believe Rove stole the election from our dear Ann.

(18,705 posts)Everybody heard the talk about Bush and his boyfriend.
I think he was just married off to look straight.
He did marry below his station if you think about it.
Victor was sent off to Poland, rather a big job jump.
There was another high placed republican whose son was also gay.
I can't think of her name.
I knew a lot of gay men back then, they did talk.

(3,526 posts)QUOTE:
Could preternaturally self-composed National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice actually have a roiling inner life? Is she tormented by needs, longings, embarrassing fantasies? So the world wondered after New York reported what it benevolently called a "poignant faux pas" committed by Rice at a recent D.C. dinner party. What Rice reportedly said was this: "As I was telling my husb" before abruptly breaking off and correcting herself: "As I was telling President Bush." Jaws dropped, we're told. And though nobody thinks Bush and Rice are "actually an item," we were nevertheless reminded that the unmarried Condi does regularly spend weekends with the president and first lady.
Interesting, no?

(100,133 posts)...as the saying goes. Rumors of one kind and another abounded -- i.e. did she have a girlfriend and who it might be, or whether she sublimated all her sex-drive into devotion to Bush and the Neocon ideology. Things like that, but speculation about a physical relationship between Dubya and Condi was notably lacking during the Dubya regime.
The fact remains: Bush attracted women who wanted to take care of him, and they were loyal. Karen Hughes was one. Condi was another. I never read "Bush Women" but you might want to look it up, because it discusses his feminine cadre.

(12,011 posts)If he was I feel like someone would have dug it up. As much as I don't like Bush, I have never heard any allegations of him being unfaithful to his wife. Why do you ask?

(20,600 posts)if he did give Condi a second look. But Laura probably wouldn't stand for something like that, and Bush would be too scared to cross her IMHO. That said, I think Condi did have a thing for Bush and was likely frustrated.
