Democrats impeach for reason - Republicans impeach for revenge.
Richard M. Nixon would have probably been impeached if he had not resigned. Reagan could have been impeached in the Iran-Contra matter, selling arms to the Contras, behind the back of Congress. But neither time did the Democrats pull the trigger on impeachment.
Then Bill Clinton was impeached for lying about an illicit sexual affair. The Republicans brought out the infamous blue dress as evidence against him. It was their revenge for the Democrats' actions against Richard Nixon twenty years earlier.
The Democrats could have, and probably should have, impeached George W Bush, who invaded Iraq on a lie, after the attack of September 11th, 2001. His torture of Arab enemies was an assault upon the senses of most Americans. But, the Democrats never impeached.
Then, after eight years of clean government under Barack Obama, with nary an indictment, the criminal Trump managed to take the White House. With no respect for custom, tradition, or the law, he seemed to break the law every day. He divided the country into partisan tribes, as a way to protect himself.
Eventually, he was impeached twice. Once for attempting to extort an ally into doing a political favor for him, by investigating Joe Biden, his political opponent. Then, when he ran out of options on how he could stay in the White House, he conspired to have a mob come to Washington and then incited them to attack our Capitol.
Now, out of revenge once again, Kevin McCarthy is attempting to get enough votes to impeach Joe Biden. No doubt, he is doing it at the behest of his master, Donald J. Trump.
Just like with Bill Clinton, if the Republicans can get the votes needed, they will impeach. No other reason, just revenge.
