In my opinion, all the 'secession' articles and comments are not funny, they are offensive.

Texas and all of the other states are NOT going anywhere.

Every state has right-wing nuts in them.

There are NO pure blue states and NO pure red states.

When I saw the election returns, I noticed that 41% of Texas voted for Obama. Are you telling me that they are SO racist and ignorant in Texas that they're willing to ignore 41% of their population? Obviously, the answer is yes, but I find it interesting and sad that while the REST of the Republican Party is soul searching and trying to think of ways to widen their appeal, Texas Republicans are going the COMPLETE OPPOSITE direction.

You know, the LAST time a State seceded from the Union, it was considered an act of treason/act of war. Is the Texas militia ready to take on the United States Army? If not, then let me propose an alternative solution. The 59% of Texans who are outraged enough to not want to be Americans anymore? You don't have to secede. You can just leave. There are 300 other countries to choose from. Take your pick. A Texas that is 100% free of ignorant, racist rednecks wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. In fact, I'd love to have all 38 of those Electoral Votes on our side of the column every year. So if you want to leave the Union, I say, "Buh-bye." You won't be missed.

who are politically untouchable in the future. All donations from secessionists will have to be sent back. And all of them are Republicans, and none Democrats.

Not because legally they can. These are the idiots who might turn to the use of force...that s why I take them seriously. I see them as a marker...

By the way, they go there...that is treason, and sedition.

Soviet Union collapsed in 1989, Berlin wall, etc, etc.

Not many Americans remember this,
but I stayed up all night watching it on CNN,
amazed it could be happening.

"Ten tanks were to fire at the upper floors of the White House, with the aim of minimizing casualties but creating confusion and panic amongst the defenders. Then, special troops of the Vympel and Alpha units would storm the building.[39] According to Yeltsin's bodyguard Alexander Korzhakov, firing on the upper floors was also necessary to scare off the snipers."
