I live in a red area.
I noticed a woman in my aisle wearing a T-shirt "FUCK TRUMP. IF YOU LIKE TRUMP, FUCK YOU TOO"
I nodded my approval to her and discretely said "Nice shirt". She responded "Thanks".

(13,282 posts)neighbor on my dog walk mile from me has all the trump flags and bumper stickers a month ago guy across street after years of looking at this must have said, enough! Put up huge flag with huge lettering that says, SEND TRUMP TO PRISON! With huge flames under the words.
I thought that is pissed off neighbor with balls.
Nice to see our side fighting back.

(12,150 posts)I agree with the sentiment, but I also have standards for public behavior.
"Trump for prison" would do. Or if you support "Trump, stay away, I don't trust you."
But that shirt is bad as the anti Biden signs and flags with "Fuck" on them.

(363 posts)Yeah, I hate the fucking fucker too, but amping up the level of political division is their goal.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a big issue to me and I do give a high five to the woman for having guts. It is just worth noting that it plays into the hands of the fucking fuckers.
Btw, doesn't it suck the we use terms associated with sex and body parts to describe the worst of the worst? Yes, I'm guilty too, as evidenced by my previous sentence. Just sayin' that it is strange, fairly universal and most likely a pretty negative phenomena.

(29,949 posts)Beside the ef word, as we used to say, has lost all its curse and insult.
We have even surpassed the B word; which we used to be able to say and now cant.
No one would dream of dropping the C word in general conversation
.yet.

Maybe its the repression that bring it out.
this is the kind of person who is SHOCKED I tell you, to be kicked off a plane for wearing that....

(10,969 posts)So you're telling me you don't see a person wearing a shirt like that and immediately think, "What an interesting person they must be on the inside!"
Huh.
At least the story didn't end with a quiet fist bump. I haven't seen one of those in ages. I crave the fantasy.

As a mom, and now grandma, I remember when my kids were learning to read, they read *everything*. I didn't want to have to explain to them that just because a word is printed, they still shouldn't say it.
I'm not a prude, but I try to watch what I say so I'm not offensive to some folks.

I am still using mine which has a picture of Obama with the caption "Made in the USA" on one side and his birth certificate on the other.

(8,218 posts)Hatch Act rules, you know. I could have a picture of any FORMER President, just not the current one or his opponent during campaign season. The exception is I can have a picture of the President if I'm in it (like a grip and grin) or the official photograph.

(932 posts)pulled into our shared driveway with a bumper sticker that read "Fuck Joe Biden and fuck you for voting for him" I told him to either remove the sticker or remove the car from my property. Said in no uncertain terms including reminding him whose property it is. He removed the sticker. Here's the thing, though. If it had expressed similar sentiments about trump I would have done the same thing, though perhaps a little more gently. It disturbs me that discourse on both sides has become so indecorous and confrontational.

(2,787 posts)30+ years ago, you could feel this way, but you would really only express it to your immediates, instead of the whole world. The reason you did that was so you wouldn't offend others - because that mattered.
People are blasting this kind of thing all over social media and now it's bleeding into public life.
What are you actually accomplishing besides a fleeting, public thumbs up ? That's all this really is...
It's completely juvenile and if everyone could refrain, we would be better off.... I might agree with it, but I would not have encouraged it by acknowledging it to the person.
That is my opinion.
