The lies are not just a Democratic Party problem.

"I did nothing wrong. They need to investigate and indict the Biden Crime Family", he says.

If indeed, he did nothing wrong, he could get these charges resolved rather quickly and clear his name. He could win the Republican nomination easily, and likely, would win the next general election.

But, he did do something wrong. And illegal. And now, he's lying to stay out of jail.

And if there is one thing that he does well, it is lie.

Naturally, his supporters believe every word he says. He may not be perfect, but at least, he's not Joe Biden.

Republicans, in general, hope to reap the rewards of his lies. Why should they call him out when he is helping their political chances?

It appears most likely that the next election will be between Trump's lies and political reality.

He's a victim of the "deep state". He wears his indictments like badges of honor. He is the only one standing between you and the FBI and the Department of Justice and the rule of law.

He had a right to fight the election results. The White House was his. It was stolen from him. The top secrets of the nation belonged to him. The Presidential Records Act gave him the right to keep them. There was nothing wrong with lying to the FBI and hiding the secrets from them. Joe Biden had many more boxes than he did. The attack upon our Capitol was nothing more than expressing our rights under the First Amendment.

The lies can be painted up and sold as something new and genuine. But they are still lies.

The American people need to understand that the lies are a problem for Democrats and Republicans. Democrats are not the only victims.

ever since I urged the importance of investigating Trump and his inner circle early on. I was told that DOJ was doing some kind of secret investigation, which has now been proven to be not true. Thank god for Speaker Pelosi and the J6 committee it laid a lot of the ground work for DOJ and Jack Smith.

Let me ask you this question Kentuck, if Trump has the nomination all but locked up by March, what do you think that Trump's argument will be to exonerate himself. We all know that Trump never had a legal argument to exonerate himself, his only argument is political. he will say that the Democratic AG and special counsel are interfering in the election to bring him down, the Republican nominee. That argument will not be admissible in court but he will blast that argument all over the MSM and the complicit MSM will gladly push it.

Trump needs time to taint the jury pool, he will never be found not guilty but he may get one Magat on the jury to give him a hung jury.

I believe that Merrick Garland had good intentions, but his pyramid strategy played right into Trump's hands.

We need a Trump trial before the election to show the voters what a traitor Trump is, I have my doubts about the document prosecution, Fani Willis is ready but it would be better for Jack Smith to go first with the J6 prosecution.

Time Matters. The Michigan AG Dana Nessel waited 1 year for DOJ to prosecute her fake electors and then she took over and indicted them herself. What Nessel did will help tremendously. She has indicted politicians and is sending a message to them that they are not above the law. She is also sending a message to election workers who plan on fucking with Michigan's election, they will now think twice.

ps/ Has the FBI been granted access to Scott Perry's phone yet? Its been a year now since it was confiscated. It appears to me that members of Congress have immunity, which also sends a message.

...to make himself look like the victim.

He would like to change the subject from Trump's crimes to Biden's crimes. He doesn't have to get everyone to agree with him, not even the majority. His lies only have to be effective for his supporters.

I do think it is a much more complex political problem than most of us realize. At first, they delayed appointing Merrick Garland as the AG until about March of 2021. Delay was part of their strategy from the very beginning. In my opinion, that was the subject discussed by McCarthy and Trump when they met in Mar-a-Lago.

Also, I think it would have presented problems for the DOJ to have a full-blown investigation while the January 6th Committee was doing its work. In hindsight, it looks as if the J6 Committee probably accomplished more in their time frame than the DOJ could have accomplished. The DOJ was mainly focused on catching and prosecuting those foot soldiers that attacked the Capitol on January 6th. Perhaps they had no intention of investigating any further?

However, because of what the J6 Committee uncovered, the DOJ had no option but to pursue it further. It was a complex conspiracy which we did not know the depth until it was investigated.

You are right. Time is of the essence. But, if it had been done quicker, there is so much we would not have known. It has taken time. But, now, there is not a lot of time left. They must go to trial and prosecute. The evidence is there.

The obstacles remaining are the legal delays and the judicial decisions ahead, in my opinion.

should have been able to "investigate" crimes no matter who committed the crime. DOJ has so much more power than the J6 had. DOJ has subpoena power, search warrant power, more manpower at its disposal.

No, kentuck, DOJ could have investigated Trump and his inner circle early on and if it had I expect that Trump may be sitting in a courtroom right now. Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony before the J6 committee shamed DOJ into action.

But it was a huge job attempting to round up the insurrectionists and, in my opinion, the DOJ focused on that while the J6 Committee was doing its work. When Trump announced that he was running for the White House again, Garland had no choice but to appoint a Special Counsel.

Surely, they could have gone quicker and could have cast a smaller net, but we are where we are and where do we go from here?
