Not the same guy, but close.

In a state with a Senator who is blocking all military promotions?

We already have the Marines without a Commandant and will soon lose both the head of the Navy and the Army.

F You Tommy.

Period. None, not one.

If they want to bring back Jim crow...no military dollars into the economy.

All those leach states can suffer the economic consequences of continuing the rebellion.

Since it exists, Colorado seems like a better location and Tubby pissed on his chance with his military promotions shenanigans.

The Air Force had an entirely space-dedicated division (Space Command/STRATCOM) for 40 years, and the Navy and Army both had space divisions as well (Naval Space Command and Army Space and Missile Defense Command) – it is vastly simpler and more logical to combine all of those Commands into one Force that's responsible for all operations over the 62mi/100km Kàrmàn line.

All that said, keeping the HQ in a mountain in Colorado (I haven't actually RTA but I'm assuming this is about moving control out of The Mountain) is a no-brainer unless there's some very deep and secure Alabama bunker we don't know about…

It strikes me as creating complexity by adding another voice at a table that seems well attended already.

Oh, well. Life goes on.

Rather than all the disparate commands trying to coordinate, it's now just one unified command. It was one of the very, very few smart things TFG did.

One command could be an existing command. Like the USAF.

Anytime someone wanted to unite the space commands under one military branch, the other two threw hissy fits. It's a turf war/penis-wagging/interbranch rivalry thing peculiar to the military. They're kinda used to a bit of shakeup, but they *never* like to a lose a guaranteed cash register like a space program to those "other guys."

That's why I'm okay with all three getting a lesson about, "If I can't have it, nobody will."

Okay, fine. Now none of you have it, just like you wanted.

Serves them right.

As for where it belongs, NORAD is probably the best choice, given the interbranch mission they already enjoy.

Maybe to Scott AFB in Illinois. More varied weather conditions for learning how to fly. Close to St Louis for more civilized down time jollies.

I've been to Maxwell. It's right outside Montgomery. It's not a small town, but it's not huge, either. Right in that bad spot of having a bit more to do than a town like Rapid City, SD (ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ) or Minot, ND (ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ) or Abilene (Kill me now).

More like hm, we have more than one bookstore, a couple of nice restaurants, and ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

You can do everything interesting there in about a weekend. Then you're twiddling your thumbs ever after.
