Just finished reading the indictment.

There was not a lot of information that was new, but bringing everything to together, and presenting it in a timeline, it brought one word to mind; coup. I can hear the Trump defense now, "I honestly thought I did win" and "Well, Biden was seated, so where is the crime?"

It is quite comforting to me that you can bet that there is iron-clad proof of every statement in the document. Trump is in for a long trip through the criminal justice system, I hope he hates every minute of it. He may not go to prison, but he is going to go through Trump Hell. I feel like I have already seen him cracking under the pressure and the pressure just went way up!

With a little luck, Jumping Jack Flash, will have other interesting little charges to dribble out along.

I am glad this day has finally come.

Traveling right now but when I get back home I’m going to print it out on good paper and stick it in with my copy of the January 6th report.

Required historical reading for future generations in my family.

3. Proof that the GQP's "BIG LIE" defense/propaganda

is actually the real BIG LIE!. Since no tRump fan will accept this for a nanosecond, this will have no impact on the GQL cult.

7. I think this indictment kind of takes away that defense. He knew he lost and Smith

can prove it. It is not about the lies as much as it is about using the lies to destabilize the belief in the system so people would accept his coup attempts.

10. Of course my suggestion for a defense was tongue-in-cheek, but

I have yet to see documentation that shows Trump admitting that the whole thing was a big lie. I hope that I have overlooked it.

Smith, in this indictment, has shown many instances where Trump was told it was all bogus; it may be a subtle difference, but a meaningful one. For instance, I have been told by hundreds of people, many of the professed experts, that the God of Abraham exists, and I still don't believe it. Trump has to be prosecuted for what he did, not what he believed.

Trump is a very experienced criminal, that is why he has gone this long without being brought down. Lets just hope that his luck has run out.

to provide him with guidance, told him there was no fraud in the election but he chose to go with the crazies instead. There will be those that will testify that he admitted he lost, we have heard from them already. He has no defense.

And the 42% or whatever it is will continue to lap it up and believe the nonsense version of these charges that get sent to their phones every day.

There needs to be an expeditious trial that starts within 6 months, not in the last week of May like the documents case.

I'm not a lawyer and I appreciate it when folks like you take the time to 'splain this crazy stuff. I did start reading the indictment earlier and I plan to go back and read the rest of it. However I took a little break because I was curious to see what folks are posting on DU. As usual, I'm not disappointed. The DU comments are mostly stellar.
