When I was on MIRT, we, including the Admins, axed about 50% of all new sign-ups. I was amazed at that. I don't think I'm crossing any visible or invisible lines saying that.

when I was on it. Guessing would have been most of "@50%" because we didn't "ax" many new sign-ups at all, just a few who obligingly revealed themselves quickly as "malicious intruders" or were identified by the MIRT team as returnees who'd been banned and were back for more mischief. It was fun to see those who were especially good at it at work.

The job of the Malicious Intruder Removal Team is to ban people who join DU with the intent to disrupt. MIR Team members are volunteers, and they serve for a three-month term.
