What Can Go Wrong With Trump's Defense?

I just heard it, Trump only did what his lawyers told him to do. What can go wrong with that?

The 6 unindicted co-conspirators are all lawyers.

Let the games begin, will all 6 lawyers go to jail for Trump? Just guessing that lawyers don't do well in prison.

The main problem with that defense is Trump would have to take the stand. bluesbassman Aug 2023 #1

All the defenses I've heard floated don't apply to the actual charges. bullimiami Aug 2023 #6

however, if all of the blame is being laid on the 6 unindicted co-conspirators will they just sit back and take the rap?

I think that Jack Smith is playing 11 dimensional chess. He only indicts Trump to speed up the trial but he names 6 co-conspirators who will be run through the mud by Trump's lawyers at trial. There will be a lot of pressure on those 6 lawyers to co-operate and they better not wait too long.

(Because he couldn't prove it, that's why.)

those lawyers told Trump what he wanted to hear, but Smith can prove there were other lawyers who told Trump the truth and through some of Trump's own statements he knew it was a big lie.

I said years ago that Trump was using lawyers to commit crimes for him, he figured they could hide behind attorney-client privilege or executive privilege. It would have been a good plan had those privileges held up.

the only thing Trump can do is try to poison the jury pool and hope for a hung jury.
