Mike Pence Found Jesus...
...and the MAGA Republicans are not happy about it.
Perhaps the most damning information in the indictment was from the former VP, Mike Pence. As it turned out, he had been taking extemporaneous notes of his meetings with the former president, now indicted, Donald J Trump.
Pence had noted that Trump and his lawyers wanted him to halt or "pause" the electoral count and send them back to the states in question to be re-certified. The states were not asking that the votes be sent back. They had done their job. Only Donald Trump wanted them sent back.
Pence refused to go along with their illegal scheme and Trump told him that he would have to "publicly criticize" him for not going along.
Now, Pence has seen the light. Perhaps he has seen that he has no chance to win the nomination of his Party and his silence would only continue to make Trump stronger? Whatever, he chose to tell the truth about what happened on January 6th to the Special Counsel. He has been called a "star witness".
On his show last night, Lawrence O'Donnell explained it very thoroughly and showed a new video of Trump's defense attorney, John Lauro, that validated Pence's quotes almost verbatim on FOX and Newsmax stations. It was probably as close as they could get to an admission of guilt.
He admitted that Trump wanted to halt the electoral count and send them back to the legislatures in various states where the election was close. His validation of Pence's comments was shocking to hear. One wonders how much longer he will be a defense attorney for Donald Trump?

Chump told Pence the entire plot with the idea that Pence would go along with it and strike down the electoral votes on January 6th. Pence knew what they were doing, he knew who was in on it, and he could have blown the whistle at any time. Why didn't he? I think it was because he was scared of Chump's crazy mob, the same people who came screaming "Hang Mike Pence!"
I have no doubts that Pence gave all the info he had to Jack Smith, and I'm glad to hear that included audiotapes (presumably private conversations) and written records. I'm NOT a member of the Mike Pence Fan Club, but we need to recognize that he did the honorable thing on January 6th. That was after several years of dishonorable things, but still....

Jesus gives another warning: Beware of the false prophets. A prophet is someone who speaks on behalf of God. A false prophet is someone who claims to speak on God’s behalf when in reality he is lying. Jesus tells His disciples to Beware of them. Given what Jesus just said about entering through the narrow gate (v. 13), it is natural to assume that false prophets will encourage many to enter the wide gate leading to destruction. Be on the lookout for them and do not listen to what they have to say.
Jesus warns that these false prophets will appear innocent and harmless, they will come to you in sheep’s clothing, but they are not harmless. Their appearance is deceptive and their effect is deadly. Inwardly they are ravenous wolves. These false prophets are looking to take advantage of you. They will destroy and consume your soul to get what they want. Don’t let them.
Even though false prophets appear like you, talk like you, pretend to be like you, they are not like you. How can you detect them? Pay attention to their works. You will know them by their fruits. If their works are bad, they do not represent God.
