Key West Man Upset Over Presidential Election Kills Himself, Writes "F*#* Obama" On His Will
A tanning salon owner in Key West who increasingly blamed his personal struggles on President Obama warned his partner that "I'm not going to be around long" if the president won reelection last week.
Two days after the president's victory over Mitt Romney, Keys police found Henry Hamilton dead of a drug overdose, the words "Fuck Obama" scrawled on his will.
Hamilton, who was 64 years old, had increasingly struggled with his mental health and his tanning business, Tropical Tan, reports the Key West Citizen this morning.
" He) was very upset about the election results," his partner, Michael Cossey, told police.
Cossey returned home to an apartment he shared with Hamilton late on November 8 and fell asleep; soon afterward, a police officer stopped by after a friend of Hamilton's asked to check in on him.

(88 posts)Nowadays tanning salons do a LOT of spray tan service. And it's more pleasant to lay in a tanning bed for 20 min than to deal with heat, sand, bugs and gawking people.
HockeyMom
(14,337 posts)lot cheaper and safer than any tanning salon. Besides, the blasted Florida sun is so HOT (I live here and RUN from the sun) you can get a tan just from running from you car to a store, and even driving INSIDE you car, if you don't have tinted glass.
I've seen far too many 40 and 50 year old Florida women who look like thousand year old Mummy's from all that sun. I mean that quite litterally. It is pathetic and very, very sad. Yet, they think they are BEAUTIFUL. I had one young enough to be my daughter look at me (60s) in shock when I told her how old I was. I AVOID the SUN, Lady.

(5,420 posts)the right wingers are correct in their anger. The problem is that they have been fed the lie that Obama and the democrats are going to do pretty much exactly what the republicans were actually going to do. Destroy this country.
I know most were eager to believe all the fox noise anyway, but they have been fed totally non truths to the point of being ready to chew off their foot to escape Obamacare.
Ist amendment rights or no, Fox and Limpballs and the like are stirring up violence and feelings of doom and desperation in the gullible, and it needs to stop. It needs to start with Fox being barred from being called a news source. They are a lunatic, America hating, violence loving, cult. Truth in the media needs to be upheld.

I get that sexuality is but one part of a person's identity but you'd think it would have been a dominant issue (if not a completely dominant one) this election, due to the stark contrast between the candidates and the importance of the issue.

(546 posts)At the very least, the 'birther' and 'Muslim' and secret socialist propaganda helped make Obama's election the tipping point for a man who needed help.
All this secessionism, the anguish and despair we see in the red-state of mindset in America is based largely on lies and distortions about Obama and his policies. The 'death panels' and the 'apology tour' and 'terrorist' are not just a matter of give and take under the rubric of 'all is fair in politics'. It is an irresponsible instigation of fear and ignorance that has real consequences.
No, you cannot say that the right wing killed him but they did give a desperate man one more nightmare to escape.
Note to Republicans: you might be jaded and you might say that it is all politics as usual but some people actually believe what you say and we all are a lot worse off for it.

(110,159 posts)that this post and the post right above, would be my first glance on the replies. not that i wasnt honest that i didnt read the thread, and that i did only see two replies.
so no, it is not funny, nor is it surprising that you would be dismissive and negative to my post, cause why think it thru when you prefer the ever so easy and lazy jab.
reading the one ugly thread above my reply once my post went into the thread, was enough for me.
ProudToBeBlueInRhody
(16,399 posts)You would have to scroll down to end up cherrypicking the one you're complaining about.

(110,159 posts)i read the OP. i posted my reply on the OP. when my post goes thru, it takes me to the bottom of the line in the thread. no scrolling happening. all i saw was the post right above me and the post right above that.
this is the second time i have explained it. you went for the lazy accusation first. you basically called me a liar in your second post.
and you ignored that i honestly put out that i had NOT seen the whole thread of replies, only these two posts. and had no interest in looking at the thread.
