Once the Judge gives Trump his new marching orders tomorrow...

He will ignore them within 24 hours.

Even if she tells him that he will be remanded to jail if he disobeys the order, he will still disobey.

He will challenge the law at every turn.

In my opinion, he believes that if he is put in jail, that will be the catalyst that begins the rebellion of his loyal supporters. He may be over-estimating their level of intelligence?

We know he had some Trumpers amongst his detail back when he was president. It would seem prudent to shake the personnel up once in awhile. And I’d think watching over a former president is sort of a second string assignment with the best agents watching over the current president. Trump probably doesn’t rate snipers surrounding him when he goes out in public like the real president.

He was hesitant to get into a SS car on J6.

Biden didn't trust Trump's SS either and changed the WH detail I read.

Yes I assume those who guard the ex presidents are different from the ones
who guard current POTUS. But Trump has a way of corrupting anyone who works
for him, so I don't know what his SS detail would do if push came to shove.

Trump's threat was added to the motion to emphasize the risks that allowing Trump access to personally identifying information posed.

The judge could, on her own, issue a gag order - but she is much more likely to set a hearing (for some future date) at which she can warn him of the consequences of continuing his behavior.

He's desperate, and that's making him want to try absolutely anything he can to keep himself out of jail. That doesn't mean he's delusional.

When I broke my mum's favorite vase, I wished that traffic would be so bad coming home that she'd not notice it was missing. Or that she'd forget it ever existed if I threw it away at the dumpster behind a shop down the road. Or that maybe pirates would grab her and make her sail the high seas until she forgot (I was 8--Pirates were in many of the stories I read at that age).

I wasn't delusional, only desperate not to get punished for what I'd done.

Same thing.

But I was 8 when I did that. This idiot isn't.

Aug 2023

(and as we all know, he was an obnoxious daily loud mouth who also personally attacked the judge, including through imagery... however judges tend to do an escalating series of orders before swinging the hammer)

Feb. 1, 2019 - considering a gag order and asking both sides to respond

Feb. 15, 2019 - limited gag order imposed (with certain discourse not prohibited)

Feb. 21, 2019 - additional gag order restrictions imposed

Jul. 16, 2019 - hammer falls and gag order extended to social media use

Stone was eventually convicted for a multitude of things, not the least of which included some charges similar (but related to his Congressional testimony and/or lack thereof) to what 45 is facing - https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/roger-stone-found-guilty-obstruction-false-statements-and-witness-tampering

discipline TFG for his violations of release conditions on the one hand, and fuel potential delays of the actual trial, on the other. Anything the court does will give him appeal rights which will only stoke his favorite tactic which is to delay, delay delay.

While I'd like as much as anyone to see tRump jailed for his violations of the terms of release, it seems to me the fastest and best way to rid ourselves of him is to get him to trial as quickly as possible.

The Chinese curse is coming true: we live in interesting times.

After his (IQ45) bullshit post "Come after me I'm coming after you!" - the 'VERY SPECIAL PROSECUTOR' could have gone after him with full guns a-blazing.

But, NO!

He, SC Smith - (AKA: REALLY Making America Great Again Master!) simply moved one small step up the ladder - requesting control over released material regarding evidence related to the impending trial.

Simply stated - SC Smith is just giving IQ45 as much rope as he wants to finish the job - and tRump is grabbing the rope with BOTH of those WEE-TINY HANDS!

Forget about the facts of the case for a moment. The judge has the right to uphold and protect the dignity of the court and its officers. Posts that say the prosecutor is "deranged" and the court and jury pool is biased will force the judge to at least consider a gag order. So even if she does not enter one tomorrow, she will put the defense on notice that she will do so if Trump's shenanigans continue.

Stick him in a jail cell. Do not allow him to communicate with anyone other than his lawyers, and only by written communication on paper. No electronic devices, no voice communication. He gets to write something on a piece of paper, the attorney(s) get to read it. The paper is then archived. The attorney(s) will reply on a different sheet of paper. TIG gets to read that, and then that sheet of paper is archived. And so on. One sheet at a time.
