If trump can get to 270 he wins period.

End of story. Yes this country will go to hell in a hand basket for 4 years and we live with it.

We fought a civil war to end slavery, it tore our country apart but we survived. We fought not one but two world wars that tore our country apart. Guess what we survived. We fought and won medicare, medicaid, the civil rights act, the voting rights act. Guess what? We survived the 60's. Hell we even survived the Vietnam war. We survived Reaganomics!

Yes toto if it were to happen we will survive the atrocities of another trump presidency.

We are the great experiment, we are resilient.

Just my rant because of some of the shit I've seen posted lately. I'm having flashbacks to RT.

1. If either of us gets 270 electoral votes, we win the presidency. It may have slipped under the radar, but that even applies to Joe Biden, who is the last person to actually accomplish it.

2. I doubt that either of us will be the nominee for president of our respective parties next year. He gets more media hype, so I’ll get written off quicker, but, then, I was never running in the first place. Give up four weeks in Truro, MA, just to go on the Sunday talk shows during campaign season? I may be crazy, but I’m not THAT crazy.

Mon Aug 7, 2023, 05:02 AM
Aug 2023

"For every disgruntled person out there who felt undone by the system and threatened by the way the country was changing, caught in the bind of stagnant wages or longing for an America of the past, we found someone who had endured decades of discrimination and hardship and yet still felt optimistic about the future and had no desire to go back. In this season of discontent, there were still as many expressions of hope as of fear. On a larger level, there were as many communities enjoying a sense of revival as there were fighting against deterioration and despair."

I like to think of that quote. People who've always had hard lives, past and present, and do something. Live.

vote to give a loaded gun to a toddler, we just throw up our hands and say; "well, the people have spoken".

And NO! That doesn't make us "just like them", unless you truly believe that there is "no difference" between what the left envisions for our country and what the right envisions for our country.

I guess Donnie Dipshit was right! There really are "very fine people...on BOTH SIDES".

No reason to consider what the sides are fighting for.

If Superman punches Lex Luther, he's "just the same as Lex".

If the population decides to go to civil war and it becomes inevitable then yes, of course I will get militant and fight. I would hope everyone would. That is entirely why we have existed the way we have for as long as we have. Because some people stood up and fought for what is right.

What is the alternative? To let them dismantle our democracy, institutions and and method of self governance arguing that “Hey they won fair and square so the people they want to hurt just have to deal with it until we can figure out how to win an election that won’t be happening?”

Look I am not and never will advocate for civil war or any war for that matter but when it comes to it and it is inevitable then yes of course we fight tooth and nail.

It would be up to someone to restore it correct? I'm not saying we don't have options. What I am saying is we are not the ones to just throw away the rule of law.

This whole shitstorm started because it was suggested that we do away with the rule of law to stop trump from becomming President again. I can't and won't live with that action and anyone that does believe that can kiss my rainbow colored ass.

My response was that idiot will be our next President. She asked how, I said it's simple. He will run as the "outsider" coming in to clean up Washington for the average person. The other Republican candidates will assume he has no chance and will tear each other up for him. Once nominated Democrats will assume it was a fluke and underestimate his chances. Unless taken seriously, he will win.

Flash forward to November 2016, she was shaking her head saying you called it.

More than once then I was told a ham sandwich could beat him in an election. I have seen the same statement in 2023.

How would you know who voted for whom?

As I've posted here before, I have several black neighbors around my little neighborhood...imagine my surprise when shortly after moving in, I found that one fella is a tfg fan. I had to revise my obvious presumption which was based solely on his skin color (and how wrong is THAT?).

My white male neighbor I pegged as a trumper, though we studiously avoided political talk. Eventually I learned he was a solid Dem, despite his good ole boy mannerisms.

Another woman down the block, whom I've met as we corral the neighborhood ferals for "fixing", I was certain was a Dem. An older "hippie" is how I always thought of her. Then I saw her tfg sticker. Sigh. We never discuss politics either, but that one was a blow.

Back in 2015, I was friendly with a younger woman at work, gay, as am I, and when she told me she liked tfg I must have looked dumbfounded. That was a blow too. I lost track of her after I retired, and I can only hope she saw the light.

So other than revealing everyone's votes (surely you don't advocate that?), how would you know who is a tfg voter?
