Cannon reveals Jack Smith is using an "out of district" grand jury to investigate the docs case.

Looking like a good week to ask the 11th Circuit to replace the judge

NEW on Trump classified docs: US judge Aileen Cannon appears to disclose that Special Counsel is using an “out-of-district grand jury to continue to investigate and/or to seek post-indictment hearings” — and strikes two filings by prosecutors

Fresh Cannon ratfuckery afoot.

U.S. District Court judge Aileen Cannon demanded an explanation from special counsel Jack Smith for his continuing investigation into Trump's mishandling of classified documents.

The federal judge struck two sealed motions filed by prosecutors in a ruling issued Monday morning and appeared to disclose that Smith was investigating the classified documents case in a grand jury proceeding in another district, and Cannon asked for an explanation to be filed by Aug. 22.

"Among other topics as raised in the Motion, the response shall address the legal propriety of using an out-of-district grand jury proceeding to continue to investigate and/or to seek post-indictment hearings on matters pertinent to the instant indicted matter in this district," Cannon wrote.

Most (sane) judges place the integrity and safety of juries above just ability anything else. If she wants to know why the grand jury has to remain secret she shouldn’t be a judge. Grand juries are always secret.

I suspect Jack Smith and his fellow prosecutors were patiently waiting for Aileen to fuck up and give them a reason to say "Hi!" to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals...no surprise Trump Ass-Crawler Aileen is unfamiliar with the word "secret"...

Apparently, incompetent nobody Aileen was feeling a little ignored with all that conspiracy "thingy" going on in DC...get used it, sweetie!

Could be a NJ grand jury found something that pertains to the Florida case, so Smith wants that entered.

Now canons knickers are twisted up.

If so, there could be an interesting twist coming out of joisy.

DOJ's motion for a Garcia hearing states that "the grand jury in this district and a grand jury in the District of Columbia continued to investigate further obstructive activity" -- so the fact of an out-of-district grand jury hearing was out in the open. And as I read her order, when Cannon denied the motion to seal DOJ's supplement (which appears to disclose the identity of some of the individuals questioned in connection with the investigation and possible witnesses), she also ordered the supplement struck -- in other words, she didn't order it to be made public.

I think her decision to deny the motion to seal was error, but I'm not seeing how she violated grand jury secrecy rules.

Mark Joseph Stern:

Yep, still the same Aileen Cannon who tried to sabotage this case at the outset so brazenly that the conservative 11th Circuit had to shoot her down twice. I remain extremely skeptical that she will permit a fair trial to take place.

They are going to find the direct interference with Cannon and the Slobfather and his enablers.
She will eventually be kicked out of the court and lose her effin license.
That is all.

Getting kicked off the bench requires an impeachment conviction which has zero chance of happening. And it's extremely rare to disbar lawyers, much less judges.

Somehow, this judge Cannon is becoming more idiotic, more laptop to tRUMP, every day.

I hope that those that filed these suits against tRUMP goes after her for her incompetence, as well as move to remove her from the bench, since she's constantly running afoul with her rulings in present and prior cases.

of the plantiffs' -- the People of the United States', not the DOJ's -- rights to uncover new witnesses and evidence for its case.

Evidence isn't null and void just because a FEDERAL grand jury isn't located where the judge is, with her "oh no, this doesn't look right; this looks shady" implication.

She wants the prosecution to school her about judicial due process, probably.
I hope that instead, it's the 11th Circuit that does that.
