It appears Covid interrupted this program and it hasn't started up again.

It gives great hope for these prisoners who can learn empathy and responsibility from caring for a cat.

I also like how the Humane Society had them keep a daily journal about the cats behavior and progress.

4. When

I was working at a men's prison in SoCal people would just dump cats outside the yard. They used to capture them and take them to the animal shelter. Then it was decided to let inmates take care of the strays and at night offices would be left open for the cats to do mouse patrol. Win win.

5. What A Great Idea!

I didn’t know that some places allowed inmates to care for cats. What a great way to teach kindness and empathy. And who doesn’t love a cat.
