Fox News will sue all other networks that air clips from 8/23 debate beyond strict limits

Ron Filipkowski
@RonFilipkowski

This is insane. Fox is now threatening to sue all other networks if they air more than a total of 3 minutes of clips from the upcoming Republican debate during a 7 day time period on a show. 3 minutes total per show for an entire week.

The other networks can also completely ignore the event. That would send a message.

I would be beyond furious about this. FOX is telling all of the candidates that they won’t get any publicity or exposure from all of the other networks.

On edit: who is the one candidate that benefits from this? Whether he attends or not, it is a big gift to the Orange Felon.

They're only hurting the crazy ass fascist GOP candidates, which is a good thing. Keep them irrelevant. Show the craziest fucking 3 minutes from the debate and leave it at that.

if they are exclusively covering a newsworthy event like US presidential debates, they have to allow other media to cover it with clips.

It would be anti democratic to do otherwi--- oh wait...
