I will never forget that story. The Bidens were not people of wealth. Hunter screwed up but as far as I can tell he has not done anything that would constitute prison terms.. So they are going to drag Hunter through the mud.. (and to be fair if Hunter tried to use the fact his Dad was Vice President to get favorable deals.. then look out Ivanka and Jared.. you are going to be joining Hunter in jail for a much longer time than anything he would get)!! Again.. Hunter totally screwed up with drugs, and women and song as they used to say.. He is nothing to brag about.. but I am hard pressed to see yet where he will be prison bound..

Republicans never learn.. they are out to drag down President Biden.. but President Biden has not done anything like the Trump has done.. so it will blow up in their faces.. just like the mess they made for themselves with getting rid of Roe V Wade..

IIRC, when he finished college, he took a job that wasn’t his dream but paid well, and helped his brother Beau finish college without debt. They really are a close and loving family.

Former Senator Claire McCaskill surprised me by exploding at Hunter’s persecutors — then she did it again. At one point she demanded to know if any of the sanctimonious GOPers had not ever had a family member with an addiction problem; another time she wanted to know if any of them actually had a close parent-child relationship of their own.

When then-President Obama helped out the family, it was such a testament to both families…

If he'd ever done anything suspicious, we'd have learned about it years ago. And Barack Obama chose him for his running mate because of his record and experience.
