Making DA Willis the face of this case is wrong, it's the State of Georgia that is the plaintiff.
Fani Willis and her office is the state's instrument.

(15,648 posts)The United States of America is the plaintiff and that carries far more weight than one individual. That's why SC Smith is such a stone, cold killa, he never forgets that.

(8,387 posts)You are utterly correct.
IMHO it's unseemly to heap personal praise on public officials for doing their jobs.
That especially goes for judges. Some folks learn quickly not to say "thank you" to a judge after a ruling during the course of a proceeding, because a lot of judges will take that as a statement that one believes the judge is doing them some sort of personal favor, and they will find "thank you" to be patronizing and offensive.

(10,920 posts)Facts, evidence, testimony mostly by Republican witnesses led to House & Senate majorities to support impeachment.
Facts, evidence and testimony led four different Grand Juries made up of Americans in New York, Florida, DC & Georgia to conclude they had probable cause to believe Donald Trump committed 91 felonies.
Bragg, Willis & Smith led their respective Justice efforts to collect the facts, evidence and testimony.
They and law enforcement did their jobs.
But the American people made the decision to indict Donald Trump.
To even submit something to a Grand Jury, the DA or Special Counsel or Attorney usually already has a very optimistic sense that the Grand Jury will approve - 80-90%?
To have that level of prosecutorial confidence result in 91 different felonies, the chances of Trump beating all 91 felonies are so miniscule - virtually non-existent.
Only outside forces like pardons, legislature, vacations on the Supreme Court buying decisions, getting to a juror, etc can stop this now.
Justice matters.

I'm confident he will not beat all 91 counts.
I still doubt he'll serve a day.
When things get iffy, he'll take off.
It won't be the South of France.
It will be some place where he can't be extradited

(23,259 posts)If one DA is removed, there is another. If a prosecutor is removed, there is another. I think it was one of the legal analysts and the conversation was about threats directed at people active in these investigations.
None of the DAs and prosecutors should have to worry about a through and through traitor directing his goon squad to harm representatives of law and order, but here we are.
I don't think of D.A. Willis or S.C. Smith as traitor's adversaries. To me, they are more like heroes representing the concept of good against the concept of evil.
I'd really like to see a powerful voice and personality emerge who could completely counteract the poison of traitor's words and actions, and help people back to normal. President Biden is great, but as long as traitor keeps making Pres. Biden the enemy, traitor's supporters won't move from their evil position.
