And I wanted a new bumper sticker so I took that and selected to give a Star anonymously.

My wife joked that the DU sticker on the back of my car is going to get us shot on the highway one day.
We live in SC so maybe that’s only half-jokingly.

I guess that's enough to take out a $3 million loan unbeknownst to me.

You can close your account. Just log in, click on that settings icon, scroll down until you see "Close your account."

I use a second account with limited money pretty much just for Paypal so they don't have my primary debt card number.

14. You might try using a different device or different browser

That, or clear cookies and all that.

When I have trouble logging into anything, I try the Chrome browser instead of my usual Firefox and it usually works out.

20. So, there is another possibility.

I use Safari on my Mac and it has recently decided that it does not want to interface with this site at all. I have had to download Chrome so I can come here as well as about 5 other sites. If you are using a Mac and using any Mac browser, it may well be that. I have noticed a rather startling bias against Safari on the web these days. I find it interesting. And very annoying. The 'monopoly' that is MicroSoft is still alive and well from what I can see.

31. I used a credit card yesterday.

Here are the steps I followed. I clicked on one-time payment with debit/credit card. On the next screen I entered an amount. After clicking continue the next screen prompted me to log in but I scrolled down and clicked on pay with a debit or credit card. The next screen then should allow you to enter your card details. The screen after that has an option for Apple Pay, which is what I used. I think that goes to PayPal, but at least they do not have my card number.

36. You can use the PayPal option even if you aren't a PayPal "member"

I'll never join PayPal and I won't allow them to keep or store my ID information.

But for the purpose of donating to DU, it's safe enough. (I've used it for the last 6 years.)

If the box is unchecked, you'll be a "guest" and your charge goes through to Visa/Mastercard. (Paypal doesn't require all the info as if they're setting up an account for you.) They do ask for your email and phone number but it's only for the transaction and it won't be stored anywhere.
