According to court documents filed in the Southern District of Texas court, Abigail Jo Shry of Alvin, Texas, called Chutkan's chambers on the evening of August 5 and left "a threatening voicemail message." Federal investigators with the Department of Homeland Security said that Shry started her call by saying, "Hey you stupid slave," followed by a racial slur.
During the call, investigators said, Shry "threatened to kill anyone who went after former President Trump." She also specifically threatened to kill Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, a Democrat representing Texas' 18th Congressional District, as well as "all Democrats in Washington, D.C., and all people of the LGBTQ community," read the filing from Friday.

although threat didn't come directly from tfg, it is his rhetoric that caused this. He needs to be put in jail pending his trial. I know it won't happen, but I can wish for it.

(22,590 posts)What kind of blithering idiot thinks they can leave a highly threatening, viciously racist, and easily traceable and identifiable voice-mail for a federal judge, and NOT face serious repercussions?
I know the stupidity of 45's followers is directly proportional to the degree of their devotion to him, but this is an extra EXTRA special level of stupidity.

We cannot back down. But we must be prepared for the backlash.

(541 posts)This woman exists in a community where the culture supports saying these horrible things to Judge Chutkan (or her voicemail, at least). Dig into the people around her, find out if any have purchased tickets to the DC area. If a group is discovered which is taking concrete steps to commit violent acts against anyone just living their life and doing their legal job, sweep up anyone who helped...make an example.

(4,002 posts)Imagine the level of stupidity that would cause someone to do this. They interviewed her so she obviously the figured out who she was, so she used her own phone (stupid), then she admitted it (stupid), it's just a stupid-fest. Brought to you by another Trump supporter cult member. I won't see these guys at the monthly Mensa meeting that's for sure.
I enjoy watching FBI on Tuesday nights. I'm always entertained by the tech stuff, cameras, street cams, facial recognition, stuff like that. Being tech savvy I'm also a fan of the IT stuff. I always think "why would anyone do any crime nowadays when everything is so monitored and watched?". I mean cameras are everywhere.
Still it happens. Some people are just PLAIN STUPID. I know they say people should watch less TV. Maybe the Magats need to watch more to see the capabilities of the watchers?

(76,706 posts)...I was on the board of directors of a couple hundred million dollar credit union.
A fellow board member was a police captain. (Coincidentally, he was tye brother of my wife's college roommate. )
Anyway, he told me on multiple occasions that the vast majority of crimes are solved because the perpetrator(s) was/were stupid.
He used to say "We're very glad most smart people don't commit crimes."
So, getting caught for a crime because of stupidity has been SOP for a long time.

(4,002 posts)My late Dad was a cop over 36 years. He retired a chief in 91 but had about ten years of patrol and Sgt first starting in the 50s after Korea. One of his favorite stories was about a couple of burglars he arrested and had in the back seat. On the drive to the station they were speaking in Finnish and talking about all their crimes and the dumb cop. They admitted where they stashed stuff too.
When they got to the police station my Dad turned around and said "Thank you very much" in perfect Finn.
His parents (my grandparents) emigrated to northern Minnesota via Ellis Island as children in the late 1890s. Every weekend we'd run up to our lake lot (cabin) and visit Grandma over on the farm my Dad was born on. I remember my Dad always talking Finn to Grandma (she could speak English too).

(8,178 posts)Lot's of stories indicating the stupidity of the perp. but that one is especially funny.
I have a neighbor that had her car stolen from the apartment complex parking lot, by some idiot who was dumb enough to
leave paperwork of his with his id and address on the envelopes in the back seat of the car.
After my neighbor reported her car stolen, she got the call the next day the thief was charged and arrested, and come to pick up her vehicle. They related the story to her... there are other similar theft stories like this involving stolen vehicles.
They know how to steal a car but one wonders if they even know to drive, they're so stupid.

(33,349 posts)Quite a few years ago my next door neighbor found her car--a manual transmission Jetta--one morning in the middle of our dead end lane stopped at the speed bump that was located on the curve in the lane. Apparently, her car had been stolen during the night by someone who didn't know how to drive a manual transmission and had stalled the car at the speed bump!

(4,741 posts)Her joke is that, sure, you do run across the occasional smart criminal who knows how not to get caught.
But that's not the norm. In her view, smart people don't need to resort to crime to get by. You resort to crime when you're to stupid to cut it with a real job.

(10,348 posts)It's a common delusion among losers, especially racists, to believe that the vast majority is "with them", but are waiting for some grand act to kick off the mighty holy war. McVeigh, Manson, even Hitler bought the lie. "The Turner Diaries" (Mc Veigh's inspiration) is this very delusion, played out as some kind of awakening.

(1,654 posts)But stupid enough to leave a vile threatening message from a traceable phone. I wonder if her besties are circulating those numbers among themselves gathered by others interested in instigating terroristic threats but not wanting them traceable to them. Me - I wouldn't know how to get through to a specific federal judge to leave a message.
But the hate is getting worse. I remember when I was shocked by those memes depicting watermelon patches on the White House lawn back in 2009.
