Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp doubts that Donald Trump will face trial in his state before the 2024 election.
The former president and 18 of his allies were indicted this week on racketeering and other charges related to their efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss in the state, but Kemp disputed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' stated goal of going to trial by March, reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
"This trial, despite what dates anybody is asking for, its not going to happen before the election," Kemp said.

Hey Kemp you have signed legislation do do exactly what to voters in the Peach State and your state legislature passed a bill to go after DA for doing there job if they don't like what the DA's are doing correct.....and for you to say that something that happened three years ago as being stupid and people need to move on, you really are ignorant.....why don't you say that to the police that were fighting for there lives to save the democracy in this country and some of them dying .....you still think it was stupid.....and everyone should move on .....

(2,218 posts)which may end up being true just due to the sheer logistics, delay tactics, etc. Don't get me wrong; he's still a shit-shipper (Kemp).
Either way, I'm pretty sure the Jan 6th Trial will happen before the Election.

(17,802 posts)This is just a logistical nightmare. 19 legal teams to mount motions. Mountains of evidence to go through exclusion challenges. Dozens of witnesses, some of whom may claim privelage.
Jury selection alone will take forever.
It won't be started by the election.
