MAGA: "Biden is only giving $700 to each household in Hawaii!"

Every Republican saying that Biden is only giving $700 to each household in Hawaii is either lying or they don’t know how to do research.

$700 is for critical need assistance and it’s the maximum FEMA can send without congressional approval. Biden cannot send more legally without going to Congress first.

I don’t see a SINGLE Republican getting on the phone and calling their representatives and demanding that they increase FEMA funding to make this sum larger.

This is also not the only thing they’re doing for Hawaii. The White House has put out an entire fact sheet of things they’ve done from small business assistance, home rebuilding programs, food, water, shelter, transportation, ground support and more.

It’s truly disgusting how Republicans have turned critical need assistance funding into a political point.

_ _ _ _ _

My response:

Republicans are turning this into an attack on Biden -- after Trump went to Puerto Rico post-disaster and tossed paper towels at them and basically told them they're on their own. Trump was loathe to help them in any way. Pretentious hypocrisy is the hallmark of Republicans.

While Americans struggle & suffer, they obstruct any effort to help with the issues we face, so they can use them as attacks and talking points against Dems, instead.

It's all a game of complaining and framing. A means to an end and has nothing to do with reality. Fux News is based completely on that practice. They can't state publicly what they're actually for (a white controlled, Christo-fascist state), since that would crush their election hopes in all but the reddest of red districts. To achieve their ends, they bitch and moan based on lies to tear down Democrats and anyone else to the left of Attila the Hun. Trump and DeSantis know this well and are fully tapped in.

quite sad that I don't see the Democrats taking a very active role in pushing back against republican lies.

There were 147 republicans who refused to certify the election, and they should be called out on this:

"When a mob of President Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol building on Wednesday, they forced an emergency recess in the Congressional proceedings to officially certify the results of the 2020 presidential election. The disruption came shortly after some Republican lawmakers made the first of a planned series of highly unusual objections, based on spurious allegations of widespread voter fraud, to states’ election results. The chambers were separately debating an objection to Arizona’s results when proceedings were halted and the Capitol was locked down.

When the Senate reconvened at 8 p.m., and the House of Representatives an hour later, the proceedings — including the objection debates — continued, although some lawmakers who had previously planned to vote with the objectors stood down following the occupation of the Capitol. Plans to challenge a number of states after Arizona were scrapped, as well — but one other objection, to Pennsylvania’s results, also advanced to a vote. Here are the eight senators and 139 representatives who voted to sustain one or both objections."

and holy shit did Biden and the White House blow it on this............

None of which was even remotely explained when Biden X'ed (I cringed typing that) about this days ago......

?s=20

That X should have made it plainly clear at the time that this was, as Sisson said: "$700 is for critical need assistance and it’s the maximum FEMA can send without congressional approval. Biden cannot send more legally without going to Congress first."

Imagine you live in Hawaii and your house has burned down and you read "one time payment of $700" without any other context.

They handed the right an absolute bomb to drop on Biden on this with awful messaging. Did no one see this coming??? Does the White House not have PR and communications teams????????? So now the left is forced to play defense for absolutely no reason, handing the right a talking point they never had any right to use.

not sure why you said "griping about do nothing MAGAts". Nothing I said had anything to do with MAGAts. I mean honestly, did you even read what I wrote? I invite you to go to my post above and copy and paste where I directly say, or even imply, that the problem with what Biden X'ed had anything to do with "calling out MAGAts".

Yeah, they blew it, and by "they" I mean Biden and anyone who contributed to that X as a statement from the President. It was a completely, to borrow a tennis term, unforced error. The victims of Hawaii got a statement from the president that $700 was coming with no explanation about from where, or when anything was coming next. For some family in a shelter reading that on their smartphone, that is not very comforting that help beyond $700 is on the way. When simply explaining this was an initial payment from FEMA and Congress can approve more, would have set people much more at ease. That's what's going to happen, eventually, but the right wing outrage machine was handed a toy to play with they never should have had.

‘It totally belittled the moment’: Many look back in dismay at Trump’s tossing of paper towels in Puerto Rico

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/it-totally-belittled-the-moment-many-look-back-in-anger-at-trumps-tossing-of-paper-towels-in-puerto-rico/2018/09/13/8a3647d2-b77e-11e8-a2c5-3187f427e253_story.html

The paper-towel moment in particular has come to symbolize what critics say is Trump’s inability to sympathize with others — and his self-absorbed leadership in a time of crisis.

1M into 1B = 1000 times

So here ya go, 700 into 1 Biilion: 1.4M times.

The problem with capitalism, you make hustlers out of all of us.
Constantly need $ for something, constantly.
The greedest trying to feed there habits and you get the awful mess we are in.

I did the math, 1B is $27,300+ a day for every day of a 100 year old person.

So about that trillion dollar military spending and big jump in deficit with TFG?
