Guy - I wish I could do that.
Other Guy - I'd get to know him first.

(32,010 posts)and counting. He prefers it if we throw it, but he will set it up to fall, run away from it and hide and then pounce to grab it when it's falling or when it hits the ground. When it doesn't fall right he'll drape it over himself (it is a stick with a stuffy on the end) and then walk around with it on his back. Sometimes he'll do this kind of baby cry when he's doing pretend play by himself which used to really freak us out.
He's our dog-cat. He even barks, which we found out from the vet who put him under anesthesia is due to an extra fold of tissue in his larynx. She said she's never seen that in a cat in all her years of practice.
He's a unique little dude. So much personality.

(5,760 posts)We've got one of those automatic ball launcher things for our Cavachon, and he loves dropping the ball into the hole and then retrieving it when it jets out. But we also have a stairway and could have saved our money!

(33,315 posts)I've never had one, but I've always been impressed by their intellect and energy. The working dog in action -- like herding sheep -- is a marvel.

(26,464 posts)Smartest dog I have ever seen in my life. His ability to comprehend words, phrases, and body language nuances was phenomenal. His ability to size up a situation and make decisions on his own, without commands, was downright spooky.
On top of that, he was affectionate, loyal, good with children, protective, and just plain fun to play with.
Best all around dog in the world, IMO.

(23,201 posts)My stairwell is on the other side of the wall, and sometimes my dog would also run up and down the stairs - just because he could hear it. Neither dog is a border collie.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
