Here it goes again!!
I feel that the analysts and contributors on MSNBC are the real draw instead of the hosts. Here are my favorites:
Michael Steele
Barbara McQuade
Joyce Vance
Jill Wine-Banks
Fernand Amandi
Neal Katyal
Kurt Bardella
Rick Wilson
Tara Setmayer
Joe Walsh
Jackie Alemany

(3,363 posts)I love various cameos by Innis Weisemann, but Andrew has been in studio so much lately instead of remote that we never see the dog anymore!! 😔

(10,372 posts)I also like Maya Wiley, she's great!
...and she loves her cats!! I remember once when she introduced her beautiful cat to Ari Melber and Nick Akerman in a panel discussion. So sweet. ❤❤❤❤❤

(3,363 posts)...where Michael Steele has been lately? Hopefully he has just been on vacation. It's also a treat whenever he guest hosts.
I was tickled to learn that Fernand Amandi and I share the same birthday (September 20th). Oh, I forgot to add Tim Miller on my list. Definitely read his book "Why We Did It" if you haven't already.

(20,259 posts)He reminds me of a late friend.
Most of the people listed above keep calm, but Elie is one of the few who actually raises his voice in righteous anger. His was a comforting voice to me in June 2021 when Merrick Garland's DOJ was defending T**** in the original E. Jean Carroll defamation suit (DOJ of course now is no longer defending him). Thank you, Elie. ❤

(820 posts)He should be a Supreme Court justice!
Cheezoholic
(3,719 posts)When you look at his resume he's all over the ideological spectrum and considers himself an "extremest centrist". It' pretty hard to peg him left or right and I think that's important in a SCOTUS pick.

(3,363 posts)I also love the fact that he has a Hamilton poster on his wall. 😎

Jill Wine-Banks - quiet dignity and experience
Neal Katyal - good legal analysis
Rick Wilson - unsparing commentary with a cutting sense of humor
Andrew Weissman - interesting legal analysis
Elie Mystal - tell us what you really think, Elie - brilliant mind
Maya Wiley - calm, reasoned, compassionate

(3,363 posts)I wrote a letter to Michael Steele a couple of years ago and thanked him for being one of the few sane Republicans left. He wrote back and autographed a photo, "here's to sanity!" 🥰❤

(14,443 posts)Doris Kearns Goodwin has the amazing talent of channeling the former presidents she has lived with in her written biographies. Its almost as if they come alive through her anecdotes.

(3,363 posts)...that quite a few contributors/analysts identify as conservatives, whether or not they stay in the Republican party. There's Michael Steele, Kurt Bardella, Matthew Dowd, Joe Walsh, Tara Setmayer, Rick Wilson, Miles Taylor, Carlos Curbelo, Tim Miller, Charlie Sykes, to name a few. (To say nothing of hosts Joe Scarborough and Nicolle Wallace.) Quite impressive for a "liberal" channel. Does the Fox Propaganda Channel have even a token liberal analyst?

(17,506 posts)The others amuse me, but I always remember that as soon as Trump isn't relevent anymore, they'll go right back to working for and supporting conservative/rw policies and candidates and bashing Dems et al.

(53,994 posts)I like everyone you listed, plus Andrew Weissmann, Cornell Belcher, Eugene Robinson, Clare McCaskill . . . I could go on and on.

(3,363 posts)Robinson and Daniels. Have they ever been on a panel together? One time, Joy Reid had Charles Blow and Charles Coleman Jr. on and every time she asked a question, both responded at the same time. 😂

(35,075 posts)The last I heard was he went to fight for Ukraine?
After that Rick Wilson and Steve Schmidt. Yes, I understand that they're republicans but Rick is funny as hell and Steve has hella righteous rants.
I can't really think of anyone else right now that I really perk up to hear what they're going to say.
TSExile
(3,363 posts)I don't think either one are even affiliated with the Grand Old Patriarchy, ahem, Party anymore. Rick has said more than once on the Lincoln Project livestreams that he left the party some time ago. Not sure about Steve Schmidt.

DFW
(60,186 posts)I sometimes see its programs when I'm here in the USA, but that is only 10 to 12 weeks (not contiguous) out of the year.
A former friend of mine did have a regular show on there, but she seems to have gone completely nuts (RFK, Jr. style) and I haven't heard from her in ten years or so.
Justice
(7,261 posts)Need a program with a host that talks about legal process. Too many nonlawyers speaking from emotion or without knowledge of the law. Can't stand the compound questions to lawyers that start with "I'm not a lawyer but....."
Really good to hear lawyers react to different bits of news - explaining procedures and process. Will need more of that in months ahead.
lanlady
(7,229 posts)I just love her smarts and wit. Whenever she's on, I stop what I'm doing to listen.
Ocelot II
(130,538 posts)Especially the lawyers - Weissmann, Katyal, Wine-Banks, Mc Quade, Vance; plus Michael Steele, Jason Johnson (knows his stuff and can be very funny), Rick Wilson (also pretty funny). The only one I don't care too much for is Eddie Glaude - he's knowledgeable but he can be kind of pompous and humorless. Generally a pretty great lineup, though.
On Eddie Glaude. Pompous and humorless. I cant listen to the man.
