From being stripped of her national title and Tokyo Olympic berth in 2021 after testing positive for marijuana to failing to make the semis at 2022 US Championships before worlds, Richardson battled for this moment.

Especially after the complete BS that was pulled on her, and also several African women athletes in 2021, who were disqualified for "high natural testosterone levels"... yet the Russian team got to parade in opening ceremonies and participate in the games as a "not officially Russia" contingency in spite of their massive doping scandal.

Richardson has always been outspoken, something certain people hate in women, women athletes in particular, and especially Black women athletes.
