These are invented, borrowed or just plain stupid quotes attributed to Sun Tzu’s Art of War. Some of this comes from bad translation, but most is either Hollywood or fortune cookies. If your Sun Tzu: Art of War has any of these “quotes” you have a clearly inferior rendition. That assessment is based on twenty years’ research. You can also have a look at “Wikiquotes.” It has identified a number of fraudulent Sun Tzuisms on its site: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Sun_Tzu#Misattributed

something original, but since the prof wanted research and footnotes, not original thought, we'd attribute it to some obscure work of somebody slightly famous back in the way-back-then, but since sunk into relative obscurity.

Of course, that was pre-internet days so it made it a lot harder to track down and verify or debunk. My little podunk college faculty and library could be counted on NOT to have anyone deeply familiar with, oh Lord Chesterfield's letters to his son. And certainly back then, no one in my hayseed vicinity had ever heard of Sun-Tzu.

Good times!

It's the Anarchist doctrine - burn it all down, whatever rises from the ashes we will rule over.

A recurring theme throughout human history.
