Different countries investigative arms will want to know what happened to it. If it was shot down or blown up some other way it will come out eventually. So Putin would be sure that he was on that plane if he did it.

By the way- there is some report now floating about “8 bodies found”.

I can tell you, as a 40-year pilot, and someone involved in aircraft crash investigation (civil) and intel (military) for many years, two things stick out.

1. There is a photo video if a plane crashing towards earth. If that is the plane, there likely will NOT be “ eight bodies”. The impact would be with such force that there MAY be body parts, but not “bodies”.
More likely they would find a shoe with a partial foot in it, and not much else. The impact would have caused obliteration.

2. Always always always be skeptical of early reports, because it takes a while to gather facts.

I’m watching, but the video I saw if the crashing airplane IS consistent with a shoot down rather than a simple engine failure. The amount and location of trailing smoke does NOT rule out being shot down. We will have to wait and see. Of course, the Russians would never tell us if it was shot down anyway.
