Just had a thought about Ramaswamy.

He seems to be the topic of the day.

That means, he captured quite a bit of attention last night.

Also, he's a hideous fucking asshole. Truly.

He kind of came out of nowhere.

Many of us here have said that when trump is finally gone, there will be be someone else just like him to replace him.

Be wary of Ramaswamy.

Ramaswamy worked at the hedge fund QVT Financial from 2007 to 2014.[3][29][30][31] He was a partner and co-managed the firm's biotech portfolio.[29][30][28] QVT's biotech investments under Ramaswamy included stakes in Palatin Technologies,[28][32] Concert Pharmaceuticals,[28] Pharmasset,[33][34] and Martin Shkreli's Retrophin.[35] In a 2023 speech and in his book Woke Inc., Ramaswamy called Shkreli both "brilliant" and a pathological liar, but criticized the U.S. Department of Justice for prosecuting him, calling Shkreli's fraud a victimless crime.[35]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivek_Ramaswamy

In September 2015, Shkreli was widely criticized when Turing obtained the manufacturing license for the antiparasitic drug Daraprim and raised its price by 5,455% (from US$13.50 to $750 per pill).

In 2017, Shkreli was charged and convicted in federal court on two counts of securities fraud and one count of conspiracy for activity unrelated to the Daraprim controversy. He was sentenced to seven years in prison and up to $7.4 million in fines. In the civil case he was fined a further $64.6 million to be repaid to victims. On May 18, 2022, Shkreli was released early from the low-security federal prison in Allenwood, Pennsylvania.

The Defendant's aggressively extremist authoritarian base want. They chose and elevated him, and he in turn made them his own passionately loyal followers, but they know it's possible that in future he'll no longer be a strongman.

Not saying they wouldn't conceivably choose Ramaswamy, but I'm wondering if his biggest effect might be to show a path to copy by some of the the floppy candidates who've been trying to safely play both sides, who'd save or overthrow democracy as the cards fell for them.

In particular, I'm wondering if he could actually help strengthen non-floppy, authoritarian DeSantis, who's of course currently floundering. An expert on authoritarian takeovers believes both DeSantis and Ramaswamy would pose grave threats to democracy. DeSantis shows "monster dictator" potential, but his image as a strongman is currently seriously damaged by pudding and white go-go boots.

But he isn't quite just like Trump.

He is better spoken, more energetic, and sounds far more coherent.

I say "sounds" because the underlying message and logic is just as twisted as Trump, but it is packaged in a far better way.

He is like Trump, but with a better presentation. Which means that some of the people turned off by Trump may not be as turned off by Ramaswamy.

I don't think he is going to be a particular threat this time around. But I think the same people who wanted Trump in place so that they could use him as a puppet and get what they want are not going away. And they will learn and improve because they are far smarter than Trump. Ramaswamy is just one of the first in a long line of Trump replacements to come our way.

The Nazis are a big voting block for the GQP. The Christian evangelicals have a lot of Nazis in their group and the religious idiots are also a big voting block for Republicons.

He's not a Christian or an identifiable Nazi white person. He does have the male thing going for him and he was born into wealth. And the GQP does love their filthy-rich males.

He's Smarter than Trump because he seems to have graduated from both Harvard and Yale like most filthy-rich people with half a brain.

Despite what he says, he's never going to win over Christian evangelicals or Nazi racists. The GQP is never going to win without those voting blocks.

Sooooo, I suspect someone is paying him to run so it looks like the GQP are inclusive. It maybe Russia behind him.

what a few MAGA family members are saying on social media. I don’t interact with them online or off but check periodically to get a gauge of both the white nationalist vote and highly educated, so-called Reagan Republican vote.

The white nationalists never veered away from MAGA, of course.

The second batch preferred DeSantis and said Trump should go away now. But that was before he started campaigning. They see he is a horrible national candidate all the way around.

So they are back to Trump first and Vivek second.

The cruelty is the point.
