EMILYs List Endorses June Trisciani (D) for Mayor of Manchester, New Hampshire

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed June Trisciani for mayor of Manchester, New Hampshire. Trisciani is one of 16 women endorsed so far in EMILYs List’s Madam Mayor program, which was recently launched to support Democratic pro-choice women running for and serving in local executive office. EMILYs List President Laphonza Butler released the following statement:

“June Trisciani has been a strong advocate for reproductive rights and a fighter for the Granite State for her entire career. She’s invested in young people, small businesses, and vulnerable communities in order to ensure that everyone has the resources and support they need to thrive. At EMILYs List, we know just what a powerful difference mayors can make in the lives of their cities, and we are proud to endorse Trisciani for Manchester mayor because we know she will continue the good work she has done and ensure that Manchester remains a safe and prosperous community for years to come.”

June Trisciani is a former educator and small business owner, fourth-generation Manchester native, and the city’s current alderman-at-large. As a member of the Board of Aldermen, she has focused on community safety and improving the local economy, work that she will continue to do if elected mayor. Prior to becoming alderman at-large, she also served on the board of a nonprofit and on Manchester’s Heritage Commission and Planning Board. She lives in Manchester’s Ward 1 with her husband, Jeff.

1. Their Run to Win program has made a difference.

They initiated a program to give candidates tools to actually campaign and win, which went beyond endorsements and money. It was a success.

I don't know that they could turn their attention to school boards, because a candidate bring pro-choice is one of their criteria, but I wish they could.
