Hannity: Department of Justice will target Republicans "until there's nothing left of the party"

https://www.mediamatters.org/fox-news/sean-hannity-says-department-justice-will-target-republicans-until-theres-nothing-left

Mark my words: if they succeed with this persecution of Donald Trump, it's not going to be long before they start targeting other Republicans, future Republican presidential candidates until there's nothing left of the party.

As they tell people of color on "Stop and Frisk" and general harassment from Law Enforcement.
"If you haven't done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.

one could see why they'd suspect themselves among the persecuted. Prosecution could lead to a persecution complex, I suppose. At some point it should be about the guilt or innocence of those being persecuted and that requires prosecution for determination.

I could see some justification if the Republican party were to sue Fox News for leading them down a primrose path with intent to bring them to this impasse with the court of public opinion.

It’s unfortunate that Lindsey changed his tune along the way. He should have continued to sound the alarm, however, he chose another alternative with the Alternate Reality party and he seems quite happy there. Maybe happy is the wrong phrase, I believe he is content with the new party.

Judge Luttig, not given to hyperbole, believes they've already succeeded and are no longer an actual political party.

But whatever mess it's degenerated into, this entity still has genuine power, fueled by the anger of an extremist, culture-warring populist movement willing to burn the nation down to have its way.

Max Boot: "Unfortunately, ... we're going to have whatever the GOP is, which is largely this far-right populist construct. I wish that voters were rejecting it. But outside of the popular vote for presidential contests, they really aren’t rejecting it. It’s still a very viable political entity."

According to Michael Steele, who'd know, one thing holding this mess together is its baked--in monetary, and of course power, corruption.

"An important aspect that undergirds a lot of the infrastructure of this corruption—the grifting and the moneymaking component of it, drives a lot of the behavior of the leaders..."

With the party's purpose and function destroyed by ideological corruption, those still in office scrabble to keep money and power by feeding the beast. Including its codependents in lucrative corruption and betrayal at Fox.

And if they didn't want that to happen, maybe the movers and shakers in the party should have stood up to the criminals who were trying to take the party over, back when they had a chance.

But nooo... anyone who tried that was considered a traitor, part of "the establishment," part of "the swamp" -- they were cast aside in favor of Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, and an army of Proud Boy terrorists.

And you know who was a really big enabler of that process? Sean Hannity. Who is now amazed that all those criminals whom he helped to take over the GOP have all turned out to be criminals.

says is that the entire party is so criminal, that the DOJ will be after them for a very long time and that is because the entire GQP has been trying to destroy American democracy and world peace for as long as I can remember. The party needs to be destroyed. Perhaps American conservatives will be able to form a party not based on greed, corruption, sedition, sex crimes, rolling back the clock on rights, attacking youth in crisis and drag queens who read stories to kids in libraries and restaurants and cafes. But I doubt it since tRump's poison and evil have infected his base and they won't be dead soon even though they are already being vastly diminished through their misplaced loyalty in Orangeface Loser.
