'I can't go': Trump blows up on prosecutors for keeping him from attending PGA event in Scotland

Raw Story

On Sunday afternoon Donald Trump pitched a fit that his legal problems are keeping him from attending a golf tournament being held at his golf course in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Taking to his Truth Social account, the former president claimed "I can't go" and blamed it on the "Crazed Radical Left Lunatics, Communists, Marxists, and Fascists" who are ruining his golf enjoyment.

According to the former president who is facing four separate indictments and a handful of civil lawsuits, "I have the Staysure Senior PGA Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland, on my great course, and I can’t go. I have to stay around and fight off the Crazed Radical Left Lunatics, Communists, Marxists, and Fascists."

He then added, "I wouldn’t want to be in Europe and watch this COUNTRY DESTROYING Scum work their disgusting and illegal 'magic' on unsuspecting Republican 'leaders' who just don’t think it is appropriate to Fight Fire With Fire. BUT WE WILL WIN. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Just to clarify. He doesn't have a travel restriction imposed on him at this point.

THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE TO PLAYING FROM THE ROUGH
If your ball has found the rough with your tee shot, the next decision you make is extremely important. One of the biggest mistakes most golfers make is not evaluating their lie in the rough properly. If you are too aggressive, and do not anticipate how the club face will react to your lie, you will ultimately compound your initial mistake.

When your ball is in the rough you are in some form of trouble. Your main goal should be to play the highest-percentage shot based on your lie, and return your ball back to safety. Anything you can do to prevent striking the grass before the ball is important.

snip

Depending on your lie, it will be more challenging to produce a consistent, clean strike that will get your ball moving towards your target.
You won’t be able to spin the ball, and it will likely release much farther than usual if you do hit the green.

Of course, you might think that someone running for US president wouldn't feel like taking 3 or more days off, just to pose at a golf course a few thousand miles away where everyone hates him. Whether or not the legal process forced him to be around to account for his crimes.

https://freemovement.org.uk/general-grounds-refusal-criminal-convictions-public-good-character-conduct-associations/

A conviction with a prison sentence is a mandatory refusal; other convictions are discretionary. Remember, this is official, so the "innocent until proved guilty" thing applies here. There is also the "Poor character, conduct or associations" chance, but don't expect a Tory government, or any, to actually try to apply that to a former US president when the US hasn't managed to convict him yet.

Remember, Trump is a whiny liar, not someone giving real reasons why he's not bunking off at a golf course.

In Canada (whose laws closely mirror those of the UK (except for mainly francophone issues), it may be grounds for inadmissibility. Look at item (c) below:

...........

(2) A foreign national is inadmissible on grounds of criminality for

(a) having been convicted in Canada of an offence under an Act of Parliament punishable by way of indictment, or of two offences under any Act of Parliament not arising out of a single occurrence;

(b) having been convicted outside Canada of an offence that, if committed in Canada, would constitute an indictable offence under an Act of Parliament, or of two offences not arising out of a single occurrence that, if committed in Canada, would constitute offences under an Act of Parliament;

(c) committing an act outside Canada that is an offence in the place where it was committed and that, if committed in Canada, would constitute an indictable offence under an Act of Parliament; or

(d) committing, on entering Canada, an offence under an Act of Parliament prescribed by regulations.

...........

https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/i-2.5/section-36.html

Now, who knows if that would actually apply to Whiney Whistledick (I luv that moniker) but it is a distinct possibility.

I believe felony indictment may be ground for inadmissibility simply because a country may not wish to get involved in an expensive extradition court battle, especially in the case of a high profile defendant.

"I believe felony indictment may be ground for inadmissibility simply because a country may not wish to get involved in an expensive extradition court battle, especially in the case of a high profile defendant."

Huh? Laws don't run on "wishes". If you mean they think Trump would have tried to stay in the UK permanently, rather than return to the USA to face trial, I refer you to the election campaign he's running. And if the USA doesn't think he's a flight risk, why would other countries take it on themselves to declare him a flight risk?

clause (b) refers to "having been convicted..". So then, what case does clause (c) refer to? I can't think of anything much else other than being under indictment or similar.

As mentioned before, there would certainly be incentive for a country to refuse entry of a person under indictment to avoid a possibly long and expensive extradition battle.

A somewhat relevant case comes to mind with the Chinese woman who was the subject of not an indictment but an arrest warrant in the US because she and her company (Huawei) were accused of violating US trade sanctions against Iran. She landed in Canada enroute to some other country, was held in custody by US request, and the US then attempted to extradite her. The case went on for many months and great expense (and political cost) to all involved.

Look, it's pretty fucking simple.

Nothing will change! The racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy...NONE OF IT...will change, unless and until we make racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy unprofitable to the businesses, corporations and individuals that fund and enable it

I don't golf, with the exception of the once a year church fundraiser, but I will do all that I can to put the fucking PGA out of business.

Fuck these Saudi asskissers.

62. I don't know why this is a PGA event

The PGA Seniors event was held this week in Michigan. I looked up this tournament, and there isn’t a single player there that I am aware has played in the US on the PGA Seniors or regular tour.
This isn’t more or less a local tournament in Scotland.

I'm not sure where that is in the way of who has found what but money laundering investigations can take time, as we have seen.

Whether or not he has the spare cash to pay his bill is another matter. Maybe he can legally rationalize using his campaign contributions to finance his luxury life-style in the USA, but using them to claim he’s holding limited rallies at Scottish golf resorts might not be so easy to justify to the FEC.

...assuming he has the campaign cash in the first place (legal bills and whatnot). Reminder that Bernie Sanders paid for his 2016 trip to the Vatican conference from his campaign funds.

As far as I'm concerned, he had no business doing that either, whether or not it was perfectly legal. That's not what people who contributed to his campaign intended their funds to be used for. He was my first campaign contribution of the 2016 season. All my other contributions went elsewhere.

104. Fueling up the airliner ain't cheap!

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_777 Fuel capacities range from 31,000 gal. to 45,200 gal. Maximum range in miles: 6030 / 8130.

So, a little back of the envelope figuring sez that 31,000 gallons @ $6/gallon (my estimate of airport price for Jet A) = $186000.00!!!!

He lies about his height. He lies about his weight. Now he's lying about non-existent travel restrictions. What a maroon!

BTW, would someone please tell TFG and his cohorts (MTG, DeSatan, etc.) that communism, Marxism, fascism and socialism are four different political philosophies? While you're at it, smack 'em upside the head until they say it's the Democratic Party and not the "Democrat Party." I know that was one of the recommendations Frank Luntz made during Gingrich's "Contract on America," but it's gotten old.

Officer Jeffrey Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department killed himself after the attack.

Officer Howard S. Liebengood of the Capitol Police also died by suicide four days afterward.

And the hundreds of thousands of people who died of COVID because you were so great at being *President.

Go fuck yourself you bag of dogshit.
