Kyle Rittenhouse is being sued by the estate of the man he killed, complains that lawsuits make it 'harder for me to move on with my life'
The estate of Joseph Rosenbaum filed a lawsuit on August 25 against Rittenhouse, along with several police officers and personnel whom the suit accuses of negligence, wrongful death, and 13 other claims, Texas Scorecard first reported.
Rosenbaum, who was 36 years old and struggling with mental health issues, encountered Rittenhouse on August 25, 2020, amid civil unrest following a police shooting of Jacob Blake. He chased Rittenhouse, who ultimately shot Rosenbaum four times, killing him.
-----------
Prior to this latest lawsuit, Huber's father and Grosskreutz each filed civil suits against Rittenhouse, according to Newsweek.
"If they take me down, they will take the rest of us down with them," Rittenhouse, who has become a right-wing hero for gun rights, said at the time, per Newsweek.
"These lawsuits are making it harder and harder for me to move on with my life," Rittenhouse told Texas Scorecard. "It is extremely difficult to go outside without fear of being harassed or assaulted because of the lies spread in these lawsuits. No one should have to continue to defend the fact that they acted in self defense."

Hope all of the suits include whoever it was who provided a teenager with a lethal AR-15...a youngster with an undeveloped, irresponsible mind, which resulted in the the shooter using both of the aforementioned weapons to kill two people and gravely injury another.
If they hadn't done what they did the boy would not have been on the scene with a lethal weapon.
The young winger hero now has been inculcated by the hard right into believing the circumstances he's in are other peoples' fault as he was just defending himself.
He couldn't be more wrong as he's only walking around free because he was tried in a deep red area. He should be in prison.
He, like George Zimmerman. is a persona non grata in most cirles because he's a killer.

I hope, and as a military veteran I do not say this lightly, this little fuck finds himself alone in a shitty trailer with a bullet and a bottle.
I used to watch Dennis Miller before he became a pariah, and he had a bit abot child molesters, where he encouraged them to take one for the team and step into the pitch.
I feel the same way about this fuck.

(1,874 posts)who was out at the riots starting fires and attacking people and had just been released from the hospital on a mental health hold after trying to kill himself. Long arrest and prison record.
The second person who died (the one with the skateboard) also had a history of domestic violence including for attempted strangling of a family member, for which he served prison time.
The paramedic who was shot and wounded had a police record for domestic violence too.
I have no sympathy for Rosenbaum or for Rittenhouse. Rosenbaum was a terrible human being. Rittenhouse is a terrible human being. Not to be unkind, but the people who stayed at the "protest" after curfew when it had long past turned into a riot and everyone was carrying assault rifles was looking for trouble of some kind. You don't go to a protest with an assault rifle unless you are looking for trouble. Both the third person shot and Rittenhouse brought guns while saying they were there to work as "medics." Four stupid, crazy people found each other that night and two died. Disgusting and stupid.
Too many guns.
AverageOldGuy
(3,322 posts)So -- the people Rittenhouse killed and wounded may not be perfect -- all I have to go on is your claims -- that does not give Rittenhouse the right to (1) illegally purchase a weapon, (2) cross state lines with an illegally purchased weapon, (3) play cop, and (4) play judge, jury, and executioner.
By the way, you say: "The paramedic who was shot and wounded had a police record for domestic violence too." I'm a paramedic in Virginia. In Virginia, no one with a record of domestic violence could become an EMT, Paramedic, or other EMS position. I'm suspicious of your claim.

(1,545 posts)The background of a person does not give anyone a right to do what rittenhouse did. Thank you AverageOldGuy.
Captain Stern
(2,249 posts)He didn't illegally purchase a weapon.....a friend of his purchased it. Rittenhouse got off of a misdemeanor possession charge on a technicality in the law that allowed minors to possess long guns.
He didn't cross state lines with the weapon. The friend was storing the weapon for him in Kenosha

(1,874 posts)And my point is, particularly with Rosenbaum, that neither he or Rittenhouse were innocents in what happened that night. Of course Rittenhouse went there looking for trouble. So did Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum was a five time child rapist who had spent years in prison. He also was homeless, and the day of the riots, had just been released from the hospital on a psych hold after trying to kill himself. After he was released from the hospital, the first place he went was to the riot, where he was caught on camera attacking people, shouting racial slurs and trying to start fires all night until he finally encountered Rittenhouse and attacked him.
Rittenhouse certainly went there looking for trouble. But Rosenbaum did too.
Retrograde
(11,375 posts)Say the three were guilty of what you accuse them of. That is still not an excuse for someone who is not a police officer (and probably not them, either) to shoot and kill them. And how would Rittenhouse have known about their pasts anyway? Rittenhouse came looking for trouble, and found it.
pinkstarburst
(1,874 posts)And no one is making excuses for Rittenhouse's actions.
But I think the context is important because some people make Rosenbaum out to be this choir boy. He wasn't. He was a five time child rapist. Rosenbaum had just been released hours before the riot started on a psych hold for trying to kill himself, and was seen attacking other people, and trying to start fires before he finally attacked Rittenhouse and was shot.
