Haley performance leaves some in GOP seeing path to winning women

I know it is The Hill. But what women are going to vote for Nikki Haley given her comments about competency tests for candidates in their 70's, her so-called moderate stance on abortion, her hard-line comments about "WOKENESS", Social Security, Medicare, her willingness to support T2FIFG if the nominee, as well as pardon him, etc? She is a REPUBLICAN after all!

Nikki Haley’s strong debate performance is piquing interest among voters and GOP officials hoping to attract women back into the party.

The only woman running for the Republican nomination, Haley took down Vivek Ramaswamy on foreign policy and dismissed former Vice President Mike Pence’s call for an abortion ban at the federal level. She also appeared to take aim at whether former President Trump could beat President Biden and called him out for adding “$8 trillion to our debt.”

While her debate performance underscored her positioning as the adult in the room and crystallized her take on abortion — likely a deciding issue in 2024 — what’s unclear is whether it is enough to break through in a Republican primary electorate dominated by Trump.

Not that she would ever get my vote but years ago I thought she might actually develop into someone to at least respect politically. Not necessarily agree with, but respect that they have a reasoned approach. Like so many others, that didn't happen.

IMHO she already cost herself the nomination. More old folks than young folks in the republican party these days, and regardless of how Nikki feels about their faculties, they don’t tend to forget ageism such as she has been pushing about Biden.
