TFG's political advisors felt that the Wednesday arraignment would be a good camera opportunity but TFG is too lazy to get up at 6 AM to get to Atlanta on time. TFG is a lazy person.

During an appearance on MSNBC on Saturday, Guardian correspondent Hugo Lowell revealed that Donald Trump had initially made plans to show up for his arraignment in Georgia but then decided he didn't want to get up so early in the morning to fly to Atlanta.

Like many of the defendants in the far-reaching RICO case brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, on Thursday the former president pleaded not guilty and waived his right to appear in an Atlanta courtroom on Wednesday.

Speaking with MSNBC host Alex Witt, Lowell reported that the former president had planned to make it into a media event with an appearance followed by a press conference, but changed his mind at the prospect of getting at 6 a.m. to make it on time for the scheduled 9:30 a.m. arraignment.

"Trump entered his not guilty plea on Thursday morning that he's not going be appearing because he scheduled from 9:30 and his team tells me he just didn't want to get up at 6 a.m. and go to Atlanta," Lowell explained. "That was what was driving Trump's decision."

because they choose an alternative that does not require getting up in the middle of their sleep period.

(6 AM would be 2-4 hours into my night's sleep, and I can assure you I'm not lazy when I choose to schedule all of my appointments, incluidng local ones, at noon or later.)

Was that a wise choice for Trump? in the long run it probably makes no difference. An arraignment is mostly a formality. The outcome is usually predictable (a not guilty plea), and and the formal charges can just as easily be read to him by his attorney.

Just grumpy about the continual attribution of negative stereotypes to anyone who heads to bed after the clock strkes midnight.

And I taught starting at 7:30 AM for 11 years. Us night folks are forced to function at times not ideal for our body clocks - unlike day folks around whom the world is designed.

My quarrel is attaching a derrogatory label (lazy) based solely on choosing to go with one's body clock when there are options to do so.
