nb: this is a guy who has no campaign organization, has raised no money and has spent no money, but filed with the FEC as a candidate.
nb: his petition will be just as quickly dismissed since he's chosen to file directly to the Supreme Court.

He could easily raise a million $ for legal fees for 14th Amendment challenge by top lawyers.

(5,062 posts)Repugs doing it may make more of a point of the principal, in case any other Repugs still pay attention to such antiquated notions. I don't get why one has to be a presidential canididate to have standing. Seems to me the 14th is about protecting all of us from those who want to subvert the Constitution from holding national office.
