consultant, commented that it's a bad move on DeSantis' part because his time as a presidential candidate is over as he'll never coming back from his bad polling numbers and the mess he's made of his campaign, so he might as well do something for his state and meet with the President.

DeSantis is a horrible candidate and governor.

He would have gotten points for meeting with President Biden. Putting politics aside, and all that.

But no. He HAS to be small. Minuscule, is more like it. That's all the impact he'll have. People remembering how small and snippy and what a piss-ant he is. Gee, who's "too busy" to meet with the President of the United States - for ANY reason?

He should call him out for his childish and selfish tantrums...letting the people of Florida know that in spite of having an imbecile Governor, a COMPETENT Fedeal Government will be there to help rebuild.

I know that instead, he will be gracious and positive...probably won't mention his name or acknowledge the snub.

DeSantis’s decision was announced on Friday.

DeSantis’ office says no plans to meet with Biden in Florida despite president saying they would

By Donald Judd and Arlette Saenz, CNN
Updated 8:51 PM EDT, Fri September 1, 2023

(CNN) —
A spokesperson for Gov. Ron DeSantis said Friday that there are no plans for the Republican to meet with President Joe Biden when he travels to Florida on Saturday, contradicting comments Biden made earlier in the day indicating they would.

“We don’t have any plans for the Governor to meet with the President tomorrow,” DeSantis spokesperson Jeremy Redfern told CNN Friday. “In these rural communities, and so soon after impact, the security preparations alone that would go into setting up such a meeting would shut down ongoing recovery efforts.”

Maybe i misheard. Maybe DeSantis' office did not inform the WH till then.

Oh they are just talking about it now on CNN. 7:29 PM. All they said us that in the days leading up to the visit the WH and DeSantis' office worked together to plan the visit and mitigate disruption. They did not say when the WH found out it was not going to happen from DeSantis' office.
