I yelled at a Trumper

Driving to Asbury Park, NJ to see a Southside Johnny show on Saturday (and ended up seeing Bruce Springsteen at MetLife Stadium near NYC on Sunday).

Anyway.....traffic was slow going under an overpass. At the top of the overpass was a giant RV all decked out in Trump flags and various Trump clown car crap. There was a car behind the RV above us and a guy was also standing there. Not sure if they had car trouble or were gathering there on purpose...or what. However, since traffic was moving slow I had time to think of something to say.

Rolled down the window and shouted "Lock him up! He's a fucking traitor! A FUCKING TRAITOR!"

He stood there and looked at me as I shouted, no real reaction. My friend thought he might throw something when we emerged from the other side of the underpass, so I slowed way down (we were already creeping along) and let space develop so I could accelerate quickly out of throwing reach at least. He did not do anything. But I felt better!

rocks and other objects thrown from overpasses. So, be careful with that.

3. It's not that they don't care. It's that they admire it.

When I lived in NJ one of my neighbors was a raving R. Guy in his thirties. During the W era. He admired that Bush “got away with stuff.”

I kinda screwed my self with a thumbs down at a red light. They came rushing over with their signs, bent over at my passenger window and waved them at me, while grinning and such.

It was a loooooooooooooooong red light.

I kept thumbing down though.

We saw the signs about Met Life Stadium. I assumed they were referring to a Giants game. Wish we’d been able to see Springsteen!

I've been to many of his concerts---this one and one at Hershey Park (and one at Lincoln Financial--I think the first big concert there when it was new) were my favorites. Tom Morello was playing with them at Hershey; there was a giant moon at Lincoln Financial--triggering a werewolf-inspired version of Ramrod and the crowd howling along with Bruce.

I try to catch him whenever he's in the area. The Stone Pony and Asbury Park have been on my bucket list--so when the chance to see him there (and hoping Bruce would stop by) arose, I had to do it! Seeing Bruce in NJ was a MAJOR BONUS--I had tix for the postponed (till 2024) show in Philly.
