(24,187 posts)I know I am petty, but it gives me joy to yell Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up! in every one of these threads for these crimiinals facing arrest, trial, or prison. They yelled "Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!" for years, and still do. But Hillary never committed any crimes and will thus never be arrested much less tried for anything. Trump, virtually all of his confidants, and now thousands of his cult members are facing justice right now.
So:
Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!

(23,160 posts)So, the enhancement is part of the sentencing record, but the judge didnt increase the sentence.

(23,160 posts)Even if the enhancement didnt affect the sentence, including it in the sentencing record could have some affect on parole/early release, or sentence adjustment if the inmate gets into trouble while incarcerated.
It could also affect future jobs or the ability to travel internationally or by public conveyance (air, train, cruise ship).

(9,352 posts)but it may have affected the sentence in a less obvious way. One example (not the only one) might be specifying a mandatory minimum for parole. Very few people besides the defendant would notice that.

... On Saturday morning, Proud Boys chairman Enrique Tarrio posted a photo of himself taken at the White House, saying that he accepted a "last minute invite to an undisclosed location."
"Never thought I'd be here," he wrote on another post taken on the building's South Portico ...

(9,045 posts)to get it on the record and included even if it doesn't add to their time. Going forward the ones with this on their record will always be correctly labeled as domestic terrorists.

(82,849 posts)Work out the exact sentence later; Tarrio isn't going anywhere for a while, so take your time.

(51,241 posts)Yes, I know whites are mentally ill and a thousand other idiotic excuses, but I want them to get the terrorism enhancement anyway. The more excuses people make (not a deterrent, no political agenda, etc.) the more they need to get the terrorism enhancement.
The other super important detail about this particular case, Enrique Tarrio wasn't at the Capitol on Jan 6. So much for anyone still falsely claiming it wasn't planned and organized in advance despite tons of evidence presented in court that it most obviously was.
