...go Nancy!
Fuck these attacks today on aging. I hope this makes ageist critics cry. I've had enough of the nonsense.

(4,675 posts)Just because a senior person has a few more years on them than 'others' think they should, the job is still getting done. I know you have to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, but not everyone is in the same boat! Excellent post!

I am a little surprised, though, figuring the attack on her hubby might have given her pause.

Nothing but admiration for that brand of commitment.

Imo, need for new, younger people is obviously not an adequate excuse in itself for claiming someone should get out.
Least of all those leaders whose expertise are needed to turn new reps who can't find the closest bathroom into redoubtable legislators while both advancing our nation's interests and keeping the Republicans from destroying them.
And Pelosi is the house's preeminent progressive leader. When we're dead, students and scholars will still be studying her time in congress.

We need our BEST people in leadership roles. Simple truth. This isn't some amateur hour. The job and the stakes for us are huge.
I think it'd be wise to accept that the members of our house Democratic caucus choose their own leaders and know their business far better than any of us. Their own careers and ability to fulfill the dreams they brought to Washington all depend on being able to choose among their best.
As for Nancy, she's not in leadership, but her great talent and expertise are available as they always were. That's reason to be glad.
