I'm willing to bet that they never thought the matter of the documents would be discovered before they could "find new homes for them" in the first place. When it was found that they had been taken the plan had to change to one of denial and delay for as long as they could. But given the known history of willing illegality on the part of this guy the Feds should have moved way quicker than they did. ruined by J6, the kids were liberal and parents both fell hard for Trump were according to daughter normal republicans before him.
