I am a member here but now I am getting lots of ads. is this happening to everyone? I

even get one on some of the screens that says "YOUR COMPUTER IS AT RISK" Click here for information on how to clean it up...or something to that effect.

I don't recall these ads prior to this week.
Thanks

Go to "my account" at the top of the page and click on the tab that says "star membership." The donation area is there.

on the right that says 'star membership'. Click on it and follow the directions. And no, you can contribute whatever you'd like; no set limit.

I get local Swedish ads. There is one dating site that keeps showing "Marina, 26, Russia" in various sassy poses. Too bad I'm not attracted to women.

Subscribing or paying a fee makes you a star member and you don't see ads. I'm not sure exactly where you go to pay a fee or how much at what interval makes you a star member or how long it would last. Check to see if there is a membership tab on the "My Account" you can find at the upper right.

When we switched over to the new format, I set up to pay $5 a month through PayPal to support DU. Easy, relatively painless and I never see ads (though I wouldn't since I have AdBlock on FireFox).

Hey, great to see you!

Stars last a year. There's a Star Membership tab inside My Account. Click that tab, and there are instructions...

I hope you're doing well with your new knees!

The knees are doing great. I'm walking around the farm, can (again) outwalk my husband and some of the horses, and I'm poking at the jungle that used to be my garden. It would figure that the wettest year we've had without being hit by a hurricane or tropical storm would be the one I can't get out and pull weeds!

I've been doing a lot of needlework, got voted president of our local group. And now I'm going to see what can be done about my "moderate to severe" carpal tunnel I seem to have in both hands. I thought I had a pinched nerve but the neurologist didn't even get far enough to test my neck or back, he said I needed to get the carpal tunnel taken care of first. Tuesday I see the hand orthopedist. Yeah.
