PENSACOLA, Fla. -- A former preacher from Milton was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison on Monday after pleading guilty to committing child sex crimes in Fiji.

42-year-old Jason Moore pleaded guilty to two counts of "Illicit Sexual Conduct in Foreign Places" back in February.

The federal indictment alleged that Moore engaged in the crimes from March 2013 through February 2016 -- specifically in the Republic of Fiji.
................................

Moore’s prison sentence will be followed by a Lifetime of supervised release. He will also be required to register as a sex offender and be subject to all sex offender conditions.

............................

“Individuals who masquerade under a disguise of public trust and prey on the vulnerability of children in their own home should expect to be held fully accountable for their actions,” Nicholas Ingegno, HSI Tallahassee Assistant Special Agent in Charge said. “I commend the victim for having the courage to come forward. HSI’s strong partnerships with HSI Buffalo and the New York State Police were key in holding this sexual predator responsible for turning a child into a lifelong victim.”.................................

I'm guessing this is a newish law that wasn't in effect when Rush Limbaugh went on his little excursion? Also, in light of the hysteria currently gripping Republicans in various places around the country, do we know what Jason Moore's drag queen persona is?

I would think this possibility is being discussed in far right circles.

Abortion is a consensual act, even if it's illegal in some places.

Child rape isn't consensual in any state of the union.

To be active entails being alert to the possibilities of the misapplication of laws so as to further limit the freedom of women and girts to control their own bodies.

I don’t understand your comment about abortion being a consensual act even though illegal in some places. I am talk about human rights.

What I am addressing is the potential for the type of law cited here to be re-written and applied to women and girls, allowing them to be criminally charged for traveling from a state where abortion is illegal to another country or jurisdiction where they obtain a legal abortion.
