(23,497 posts)Personally I felt like poking that man in the eyes while watching this. (I realize he is an actor but it really brought up strong feelings for me)

(22,590 posts)I would strongly advise against reading anything about this man's personal convictions and motivations into that performance. He's an actor playing a role, and doing a damned fine job of it. The fact that he's so convincingly creepy is evidence of his talent and his mastery of his craft, nothing more.
A really good actor can play all sorts of roles well. Really nice guys can play awful villains and disgusting sleazebags can play charming and innocent characters. (Case in point: Bill Cosby.)
Seriously, if an actor is really good at what he does, it's almost impossible to tell what kind of person he is from watching a performance.

(22,590 posts)The post I was responding to didn't come across as levity. If that's how it was meant, I'm glad to hear it.
Unfortunately, nuances can easily get lost in online communication. Sounds like this may be a case of that.

But if you are a corporation they are all in for letting you do whatever you want. Pollute and kill? Sure, go ahead, we'll just look the other way.

It should everywhere to remind people of either what is already happening in certain places, and what just might happen if the elections don't go our way locally, Statewise, and nationally!

Show those forced birth Republican douchebags for what they really are! The time is past for sugar coating the facts or pussy footing around the ugly truth. This is exactly who they are and what they want to do. Shout it from the rooftops!

(2,905 posts)Regarding do anything illegal, add like travel to another state. That would piss off even the my daughter = my property types who might not like being told what they can do with their property.
But I suppose it damps down the power of that ending.

(12,667 posts)To them that girl is property. Property gone bad by allowing herself to be raped.
Maybe that Dad who is suffering might pull on their heartstrings but they probably just think of him as a bad Dad. A bad Dad who let his daughter be raped.
And they would be thrilled to know a scummy person who thinks like them, will be carefully watching her; forcing her to behave; forcing her to birth that fetus. Afterall, she did get herself pregnant and needs to be punished.
That's how the evangelicals and Republicons think. That's why just repeating Trump's ignorant, stupid and bigoted words in ads didn't work the last time he won the electoral college.
