They are dropping my premium from $8.60/mo. to $.50/mo. Wellcare.
Thank you Joe Biden for finally going after big pharma and getting drug prices down.
Anybody else getting a reduction?

(21,883 posts)Don't go by me, I probably shouldn't have posted. My broker sold a bunch of Apple Stock last year and it killed me in taxes, I'm sure that's a big reason that my Medicare costs went up so much. My estimated taxes are killing me this year. I had the same kind of problem 2 years ago, last year the estimated taxes kind of fixed themselves. I didn't owe as much last year, and I overpaid on my estimated taxes. I thought I got it through to the broker not to sell any large amounts of Apple stock, but apparently not.

Primary Physician co-pay from $10 to $0
Specialist co-pay from $20 to $10
Tier 1 Rx (Generic) From $5 to $0 for both pharmacy 30 day or mail-order 90 day.
Tier 2 Rx (Brand) From $40 to $33 "" "" "" ""
That is just a small portion of lower costs.

(32,133 posts)Got 4 scripts that I get every 90 days. My pharmacy got me a more generic drug for one of them, maybe my BP medicine, on my last refill. Thankfully my meds are reasonable, maybe $70.00 quarterly.

(4,002 posts)We need TV commercials advertising the "Biden effect" on drug prices. Lower prices for average Americans.

(28,493 posts)They weren't very expensive in the first place, maybe $20 a month, but zero dollars is better.
Oh, and I now have a prepaid debit card that pays for a bunch of OTC stuff, like pain relief, sleep aids, incontinence products, dental and oral health. Like so many seniors I'm on a limited budget, and these things being paid for is hugely helpful.

(741 posts)My wife's wellcare went from $8.10 to $0 in Illinois. The higher tier drugs however now cost us a % of the drugs cost instead of a fixed co-pay.
