What if house democrats abstain?

In the event that Gaetz puts forth a motion to vacate, the democrats could easily swing the vote one way or another.

What if they all abstained on the motion to vacate?

What would be the effect?

Democrats should want him to stay speaker. Not only does he make bad optics daily for the repubs, his replacement will be much worse.
