so their sugar daddies can fly them home on private jets, not that they bother to meet with constituents when they go home.

They hate Democratic majorites, because Democrats actually govern and have policies that need to be voted on 5 days a week.

Republicans hate that, the main reason they ran for office was so they didn't have to work that hard.

Well, someone must have rang the bell and said RECESS!!!

Horrible optics for House Republicans to go home today, so backpeddling on what had been actually said about that, and decided, is underway. But some members already left.

The models have been honking about it for a couple weeks.

It came across the SE U.S. as a low and started spinning off the coast of FL. It's a "home grown" storm and depending on how it further develops and intensifies, it could either be a fall "nor'easter" OR as NHC suggests, a "subtropical" or even a "tropical" storm.

Will have to see. The water down there (and even up here) is like bathwater.

I read a brief discussion by my local NWS office in Mt. Holly and there was mention about the possibility that as it moves north, it could get cut off from the main jetstream flow, and sort of sit and spin. If that happens you have a bit more prolonged periods of wind and rain until something captures it and sends it on its merry way to the UK!

ETA - as the sun is setting on it and it's trying to form a little eye -
