Nearly half of voters believe Biden broke law in regards to son Hunter: poll

Nearly half of voters believe Biden broke law in regards to son Hunter: poll

Jacob Knutson

https://www.axios.com/2023/09/21/joe-biden-illegal-hunter-business

"SNIP....... ..

Nearly half of U.S. adults say they believe President Biden "definitely" or "probably" did something illegal in relation to his son, Hunter, according to a recent poll.

Why it matters: The results suggest Republicans' relentless messaging around the president's alleged corruption has broken through with a portion of voters, even as Democrats and some Republicans highlight the lack of evidence for the claims.

Driving the news: The Yahoo News/YouGov survey of 1,636 people found that the number of registered independents who said they believed the president had broken the law in regards to Hunter was even higher, at 54%.

* Among Republicans, the number was 85%.

A push poll is a fake poll, conducted in such a way that it is designed to influence the responders' opinions, rather than assess opinions. The wording of the questions is designed to "push" people's opinions.

Push polls ask survey participants leading questions, such as "Do you trust Joe Biden to tell the truth even though Democrats always lie?"

Push polls are fake. They aren't designed to gather information, but instead, to spread lies and propaganda. Republicans have used this strategy for decades.

I didn't participate in this particular poll, so I can't speak to this specific question. But I regularly participate in their polls. I can't speak to whether they are properly adjusted to the population demographics, but their questions side reasonably well constructed, and not designed to push you to one outcome v. the other.

of the overall cynicism Americans have about politician's conduct in general, as opposed to their beliefs regarding Joe's actual behavior. "They're all crooked" has wormed its way into the American psyche. Not everyone feels that way of course, and we exhibit as much here every day. But, politicians as a group have fallen in esteem so much over time, perhaps its natural to expect some people, Independents especially with no "team" to cheer for, to paint all politicians with the same broad brush regardless of who's in charge.

It’s dishonesty on the part of the politicians who know very well there are some very honest people in our government. It’s also laziness on the part of the voters who really don’t want to know facts. Actually thinking, it’s too much work for half of Americans I guess. You can’t blame people for thinking the government is crooked when they have guys like Senator Kennedy, and Josh Hawley. But we also have guys like Chris Coons then josh Shapiro

Maybe the Dems should make something up about one of their own, (Not tfg because he is already charged)

Start an investigation into Mitch McConnell for stealing from the congress coffers? Or one of the candidates.
Maybe it's not a good idea and it is not what we Dems do but I believe in fighting fire with fire is the only way to win sometimes.

Hunter Biden has been investigated for 5 years, President Biden's emails have been turned over to Comer and Magats can find no link between Hunter and Joe and yet we are supposed to respond to a poll that is based on a lie?

How many people believe that Trump actually had bone spurs to get out of going to Vietnam would be a more realistic poll.

I’d most likely chalk that up to a significant portion of the population just hating politicians in general and therefore just assuming any of them are criminals, rather than believing the people they polled actually have any sort of informed opinion on the subject.
