Had my surgery yesterday

for all who requested that I update once it’s over.
I had to spend the night even though it was scheduled as an outpatient procedure. Apparently I had an enlarged gallbladder that caused additional problems and not-fun pain. But all’s well that ends well and I’m home today and feeling 1000%. Thanks for caring to know how it ended.
DU rocks.

since May. It almost felt like I had swallowed a pencil.
They did a robotic cholecystectomy. Really interesting to watch on YouTube where they have filmed several of the Amazon DaVinci robot operations. Five incisions that are glued shut when closed, no bandages or drains. Doc just said it was enlarged and insisted I stay over. I’m assuming that meant it was harder to remove. Also I really had a lot of pain which is odd for me. Anyway, all over now. I’m not sure but if I had had it to do over, I might have opted for a regular laparoscopy.

Everyone I’ve talked to with a traditional laparoscopic procedure has felt very good on the other side. I had the robotic procedure, And although I wasn’t in any pain going into the surgery, I felt like I went 10 rounds with Ali after. Lots of swelling and bruising and pain. I think I wouldn’t choose to fight that robot again.

I start out looking for my car keys which leads me to kitchen table where I have to clear off morning breakfast plate to kitchen where I notice spill on floor and while rinsing mop in bathroom, pick up dirty towels to deposit in washer as my phone rings.

“Where are you, mom? You were leaving 20 minutes ago!”

Hmm.. okay… now where are my car keys?
