Sen. Booker was supportive of Sen. Menendez during Menendez's first corruption rodeo.
The indictment lays out horrifying allegations of corruption. Gov. Murphy has called for Menendez to resign, N.J. state legislators are calling for his resignation, others are beginning to speak out...I just saw Rep. Katie Porter call for his resignation.
Booker is going to need to say something soon. As much as it might hurt personally to turn on his fellow senator, it is obvious what he needs to do.
It is a distraction. It hurts the people of New Jersey and it hurts the Democratic Party.

Hopefully Booker is quietly urging Menendez to resign.

(42,033 posts)Sen.Booker is the other Senator from New Jersey. During Menendezs previous corruption trial, Senator Booker went to court every day and sat directly behind Menendez in solidarity and support.
Expecting Booker to comment now is not a distraction. It is a fair expectation.

Im more than confident we will and most always do the right thing..ethically and morally. I wish some had taken a minutes pause for Senator Franken.
