all at the discretion of Abbott? I thought USCIS and Border Patrol were the regulatory agencies. Is this encouraged by the administration? Or is it on Abbott? Worse than a wall IMHO.

The lawsuit asks a federal judge in Austin to force Texas to remove a roughly 1,000-foot (305-meter) line of bright orange, wrecking ball-sized buoys that the Biden administration says raises humanitarian and environmental concerns. (131,028 posts)was ignoring or encouraging the situation; rather than asking a neutral question like, "What is being done about the razor wire floats at the border?" the first question was "How is the Biden administration allowing razor wire and Abbot's buoy floats at the border?" - the answer to which is that it is not allowing them and is litigating the matter.
The answer to the second question, "Is this all at the discretion of Abbott?" is Yes.
The third question was "I thought USCIS and Border Patrol were the regulatory agencies." They are not regulatory agencies; they are law enforcement agencies.
The fourth question: "Is this encouraged by the administration?" Absolutely not. See #1.

(131,028 posts)We can't complain about the unlawful shit TFG pulled and then turn around and advocate doing the same kind of thing. Biden has absolutely no legal authority to send in the military to either remove the buoys or arrest Abbott. Sometimes I'm amazed at the authoritarian ideas that pop up on a liberal site like DU...
